The sterile MEDEREN Bacterial-Viral Respiratory Filter with Heat and Moisture Exchanger is designed for proximal placement in the patient’s breathing circuit. It effectively removes and retains microbes while capturing exhaled heat and moisture for reuse, warming and humidifying inhaled therapeutic gases. This innovative filter utilizes a hydrophobic filter material to trap particles and a porous layer to conserve patient’s exhaled heat and moisture, returning it on inhalation for optimal patient comfort and therapy. It can also be used for filtering medical gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) during insufflation.
