Product Description

This Frejka splint (also known as a Frejka pillow or hip abduction orthosis) in size L is designed to effectively treat mild hip dysplasia, preluxation, and subluxation in infants. It gently holds the hips in abduction and flexion at an angle greater than or equal to 90 degrees, promoting the proper development of the hip socket.

Indications

• Mild hip dysplasia
• Preluxation (hip almost dislocated)

Contraindications

• Absolute Contraindication: Irreducible hip dislocation.
• Relative Contraindications (Consult a Physician): The need for individual joint orthosis, malignant neoplasms in the area of application, contact dermatitis, trophic ulcers, pressure sores in the application area, and allergic reactions to the materials.

Instructions for Use

1. Sizing: Measure the distance between the popliteal fossae (the hollows behind the knees) with the infant's hips in abduction.
2. Age Range: Suitable for infants from 1 month to 9 months old (size may need to be changed as the child grows).
3. Application: Place the splint over cotton clothing and a diaper. Position the perineum at the center base of the splint, with the legs and lower legs on either side. Secure with the adhesive straps.
4. Acclimation: Allow 1-2 weeks for the infant to adjust to the splint.
5. Wear Schedule: Typically worn all day, with breaks for supervised exercises, bathing, physiotherapy, massage, and diaper changes.
6. Physician Supervision: The duration of use, wear schedule, and removal times should be determined by a physician. Always consult your pediatrician with any questions or concerns.

Care Instructions

• Easily sanitized.
• Hand wash removable covers at a maximum temperature of 40°C (104°F).
• Do not iron, bleach, use solvents, or dry clean.
• Store in a dry place at room temperature.
• Avoid moisture, high temperatures, and direct sunlight.
