How to Put On Your Compression Stockings:
By Hand:
- Put them on in the morning. Ensure your nails are trimmed and rings are removed.
- Sit on a bed or chair with your leg bent at the knee.
- Place the stocking on your foot, ensuring the heel is correctly positioned.
- Pull the stocking over your heel and up to your ankle. Smooth out any wrinkles.
- Continue pulling the stocking up your leg, smoothing it out as you go. Work in sections, ensuring the stocking is evenly distributed.
Using a Dressing Aid (Butler):
- Place the dressing aid on the floor.
- Place the stocking over the aid, heel facing you.
- Slide your foot into the stocking.
- Pull the aid upward to your knee.
- Remove the aid and smooth out any wrinkles.
How to Remove Your Compression Stockings:
- Gently pull the top of the stocking downwards, turning it inside out as you go.
- Avoid pulling on the waistband; instead, grip the fabric itself.
Important Notes:
- Do not cut off loose threads or labels.
- Wear stockings as recommended by your doctor. If no specific instructions are given, wear them in the morning and remove them in the evening.
- Wash daily with mild detergent at a temperature not exceeding 30°C (86°F). Air dry away from direct heat and sunlight.
