Description:

Amoxicillin FT is a broad-spectrum antibiotic in the form of a powder for oral suspension, effective against a wide range of bacteria. This easy-to-administer suspension provides a convenient and palatable treatment option for bacterial infections.

Amoxicillin trihydrate (equivalent to amoxicillin).

Dosage Forms & Packaging:

Available in two strengths:

• 20.0g vial (provides 125mg amoxicillin per 5mL of suspension)
• 33.3g vial (provides 250mg amoxicillin per 5mL of suspension)

Each vial comes with a dosing cup for accurate measurement and a patient information leaflet.

Indications:

Amoxicillin FT is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including:

• Respiratory tract infections: Upper respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, pneumonia, bronchitis.
• Genitourinary infections: Urinary tract infections (UTIs), gonorrhea.
• Skin and soft tissue infections: Impetigo, cellulitis.
• Gastrointestinal infections: Typhoid fever, salmonellosis, shigellosis.
• Other infections: Leptospirosis, listeriosis.

Dosage and Administration:

How to Prepare the Suspension:

1. Shake the powder in the vial.
2. Add boiled drinking water cooled to room temperature to the designated mark on the vial (60mL for 20.0g vial or 100mL for 33.3g vial).
3. Shake vigorously to dissolve the powder.
4. Once the foam settles, add additional water to the designated volume and shake again.
5. The suspension is now ready for use. Shake the bottle before each dose and allow the foam to settle.

Contraindications:

Amoxicillin FT is contraindicated in individuals with:

• Hypersensitivity to penicillin antibiotics.
• Infectious mononucleosis.
• Certain combinations with other medications.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with allergic diathesis, bronchial asthma, or hay fever.
• Patients with renal impairment may require dose adjustment.
• Monitor liver and kidney function during prolonged use.
• Adequate fluid intake is important.
