PDC Cervical Orthosis with Variable Fixation
Enhanced Text
The PDC Cervical Orthosis offers a unique approach to cervical spine support, providing both bilateral and unilateral immobilization. Built on the principles of early functional treatment, the PDC minimizes painful restrictions while encouraging controlled movement. Its innovative design prioritizes comfort and accessibility.
Key Features and Benefits
- Variable Fixation: Allows for both complete immobilization and targeted mobilization of the cervical spine, facilitating physiotherapy exercises. The modular design permits unilateral movement, preventing muscle atrophy on the unaffected side while protecting the injured area. A detailed physiotherapy exercise program is included with the orthosis.
- Enhanced Comfort: The frameless construction and breathable, porous materials ensure comfortable, all-day wear.
- Anterior Neck Access: The design provides unobstructed access to the front of the neck, making it suitable for patients with enlarged thyroids or tracheostomies.
- Easy Adjustment: The modular design allows for easy adjustment of the level of support. Simply remove the modular insert on one side to enable unilateral movement. Instructions for this adjustment are clearly outlined.
- Breathable & Comfortable Materials: Constructed from 47% polyurethane, 19% cotton, 19% polycarbonate, 12% polyethylene, and 3% polyamide for optimal comfort and breathability.
Indications
- Degenerative disc disease of the cervical spine
- Ligament injuries (sprains)
- Post-surgical recovery
- Torticollis (muscle wryneck)
