This ribbed dual-slope board is a tactile, narrow walking trainer designed to gently correct valgus foot posture (knock-knees) in children. Walking barefoot along the gently sloped ribs encourages proper foot placement, promoting parallel foot positioning and minimizing outward splaying.

Ideal for children aged 2.5 to 6 years, the board's 150° angle offers a manageable challenge, promoting gradual correction of valgus deformity, preventing flat feet, and enhancing vestibular function, coordination, and balance. The carefully sanded ribs are left unfinished to preserve the natural warmth and beauty of the wood.

Children with pes valgus (flat feet) typically bear weight on the inner foot, causing instability and pronation. Walking on this board strengthens muscles opposing the deformity (supporting the outer foot), gradually influencing bone structure. The board simultaneously improves balance, coordination, and vestibular function. Exercises requiring single-leg stance shift body weight towards the supporting leg, further unloading the inner foot arch. As Professor Kaptelin noted in his 1969 monograph, "...standing allows for the transfer of function from toe flexors to arch deepening, facilitating balance exercises and utilizing the modeling influence of round and cylindrical objects to correct valgus foot posture..." The addition of semi-circular ribs to our board directly addresses this principle. Walking on ribbed boards is also a recommended exercise for flat foot prevention.

For increased challenge as your child progresses, simply incline the board by placing one end on a stack of books, a Swedish ladder rung, or a bench.
