Zhibai Dihuang Wan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula renowned for its ability to tonify Kidney Yin and clear deficiency-type heat. It’s specifically indicated for hyperactivity of fire resulting from Kidney Yin deficiency. This may manifest as symptoms such as: flushing, night sweats, tinnitus, seminal emission, dry mouth and throat, lower back pain and aching, burning sensations in the palms, soles, and heart, palpitations, insomnia, vivid dreams, difficult urination, small amounts of reddish urine, and painful or burning urination.
Clinically, Zhibai Dihuang Wan has been used to address a wide range of conditions, including: chronic pyelonephritis, acute pigmented dermatitis, hematuria, chronic cystitis (women), prostatitis, nocturnal emissions, impotence, infertility, premature ejaculation, spermalgia, climacteric syndrome, neurasthenia, hyperthyroidism, thyrotoxicosis, diabetes mellitus; spinal disorders (including inflammatory conditions); hypertension; and atrophic chronic pharyngitis with pain and dryness.
Its pharmacological actions include anti-inflammatory, antihypertensive, immunostimulatory, antibacterial, sedative, antioxidant, hypoglycemic, and hypolipidemic effects. It also helps regulate metabolic processes in the kidneys and improves renal function.
