Varolast Plus Compression Bandage with Zinc Paste: Effective Treatment for Venous Insufficiency
Product Description:
Varolast® Plus is a ready-to-use, non-sterile, longitudinally elastic compression bandage with zinc paste. This new batch is imported directly from Europe. The bandage’s carrier layer consists of viscose and polyamide, while the zinc paste impregnation contains zinc oxide, glycerin, and gelatin. Zinc oxide is included for its contribution to the semi-rigid consistency of the bandage and is not intended to provide additional pharmacological effects. Consult a physician before use.
Indications:
Varolast Plus is indicated for the treatment of:
- Severe chronic venous insufficiency with trophic ulcers
- Lymphedema
- Post-sclerotherapy of large veins
- Enhancing the effectiveness of compression therapy
Application Instructions:
For reduced pressure, apply an underlay material before bandaging. Ensure maximum flexion of the ankle joint during application. Apply the greatest tension to the foot and ankle area, gradually decreasing tension as you move upwards. Various bandaging techniques can be employed. Reduce pressure and replace the bandage if pressure decreases. The bandage can be worn for up to 7 days.
Contraindications:
- Obliterative diseases of the lower extremities
- Decompensated heart failure
- Diabetes mellitus with severe angiopathy and polyneuropathy
- Infectious inflammation of soft tissues
- Septic phlebitis
Important Considerations:
- This bandage should only be used with an ankle-brachial index (ABI) between 0.8 and 1.3.
- Use only on intact skin.
- Intended for use by healthcare professionals on adults (excluding children under 3 years old) in clinical settings and at home.
- This is a single-use, non-active, and non-sterile medical device. Reusing this product is dangerous.
- The semi-rigid, inelastic zinc-containing bandage provides high working pressure and low resting pressure, improving venous hemodynamics in the lower extremities by enhancing the propulsive capacity of the calf’s musculovenous pump. This leads to regression of edema and improved reparative processes in leg trophic ulcers.
