Insertion Instructions:
- Remove the protective film.
- Remove the protective valve from the bottom of the container (where the needle is located).
- Remove the plastic cap from the back (simply pull upwards).
- Attach the tubing to the cartridge.
- Fill the catheter with insulin – a few drops should emerge from the needle.
- Remove the needle safety guard (spirally wound).
- Pull the inner part (needle holder) upwards and apply the device to the insertion site.
- Press the release buttons on either side with two fingers.
- Remove the container along with the insertion needle.
Replacement Frequency:
For optimal insulin absorption and to minimize the risk of occlusion and inflammation, it’s recommended to replace the Minimed Mio infusion set every 48-72 hours.
