The Ivlar Kuznetsov applicator ("Salus" mat) should be used on a hard, flat surface. Lying on the applicator is recommended. Needle pitch is selected based on individual skin sensitivity. Generally:

• Rule 1: Lower weight = smaller needle pitch.
• Rule 2: Thicker subcutaneous fat layer = larger needle pitch.
• Rule 3: Smaller needle pitch is preferable for feet.
