Description: This two-pack of ImmunoChrom-HIV-1/2 Express tests provides a rapid, single-step, in-vitro qualitative detection of antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency Virus type 1 and/or type 2 (HIV-1/2) in serum, plasma, or whole blood using immunochromatographic assay. The test utilizes immunochromatography: the sample is absorbed into the test strip; if HIV-1/2 antibodies are present, they bind to colored recombinant HIV antigens, forming a colored antigen-antibody complex. This complex migrates along the membrane and reacts with immobilized recombinant HIV antigens in the test zone, creating a pink-violet line. A control line also appears pink-violet in the upper part of the test zone. Results are visually determined after 15 minutes.
