Coletex-SAF-gem Hemostatic Gauze with Sodium Alginate and Furagin – 7.5×2.5 cm, Pack of 3
Product Description
Coletex-SAF-gem hemostatic gauze is a sterile, ready-to-use dressing designed for rapid hemostasis in various situations, from minor household injuries and blood draws to small surgical procedures. Its unique formulation combines sodium alginate and the antimicrobial agent furagin, eliminating the need for pre-wound cleaning. This simplifies application and makes it ideal for emergency situations.
Trusted by emergency medical professionals and military medics for years, Coletex-SAF-gem gauze is a reliable and efficient solution. It’s available in a range of sizes, from small squares perfect for post-venipuncture wound closure to larger pads suitable for cavity surgeries. For convenient home use, adhesive-backed versions mimic the ease of a bandage while providing significantly superior hemostasis.
Indications
- Open wounds of the skin and underlying soft tissues with capillary bleeding (household injuries).
- Hemostatic agent during surgical procedures.
- Minor bleeding control in home settings, blood draws, drainage and catheter placement.
- Minimally invasive procedures.
- Post-hirudotherapy procedures.
Contraindications
Coletex-SAF-gem gauze with furagin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to furagin or any components of the textile-biopolymer base.
Directions for Use
- Open the sterile packaging.
- For superficial wounds, apply the gauze to the wound, ensuring the medicated side contacts the skin. Extend coverage beyond the wound edges by 2-3 cm.
- Apply firm pressure for 20-30 seconds, then secure with a bandage or adhesive tape.
- For deep or complex wounds, pack the wound tightly with the gauze and elevate the affected limb.
- Once hemostasis is achieved, apply a soft gauze dressing and consider applying cold (Do not apply cold for more than 30 minutes. Initial vasoconstriction reduces bleeding, but prolonged cold can cause vasodilation and increased bleeding).
Storage
Store in a dry, dark place at a temperature between +5°C and +40°C. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the package. Shelf life: 3 years.
