What is a Reusable Salt Heat Pack?

A reusable salt heat pack is a sealed, flexible pouch filled with a supersaturated salt solution. Inside, a small activator stick initiates the heat or cooling process. The heat pack's shape and size are versatile; they can be customized to fit various body parts, and even assume fun shapes like the "Ladybug" design! Our heat packs are made with hypoallergenic, eco-friendly materials ensuring safety and comfort for all.

How to Use:

As a Hot Compress:

1. Snap the activator stick to initiate the crystallization process.
2. The heat pack will instantly firm and heat to 54-55°C (129-131°F).
3. Apply the warm pack to the affected area. The heat lasts for 3-4 hours, depending on size and ambient temperature.

Reactivating the Heat Pack:

1. Wrap the heat pack in a cloth.
2. Submerge the wrapped pack in hot water until the salt solution completely liquefies (5-15 minutes).
3. Remove and allow to cool before reuse.

As a Cold Compress:

1. Place the heat pack in the freezer for 30-40 minutes.
2. Apply the cool pack to the affected area.

The Science Behind It:

The heat pack contains a supersaturated salt solution in equilibrium. Snapping the activator disrupts this equilibrium, triggering rapid crystallization. This crystallization process releases heat, a catalytic reaction that makes it a self-heating pack. Reactivating the pack reverses this process; dissolving the crystals absorbs heat, requiring hot water to return it to its liquid state.
