This handcrafted awl with a 6cm hook is perfect for stitching leather, shoes, rubber, and other tough materials that standard sewing needles can’t handle. Ideal for cobbling and leatherwork, its strong, 2mm AISI 304 stainless steel blade easily pierces thick materials.

Important

For extremely tough materials, pre-punch holes with a standard awl before using this hooked awl to prevent tip breakage. This awl is designed for threading, not forceful piercing. Softer materials like sneakers can be stitched directly. Avoid bending the awl during insertion and removal to prevent damage. If you misalign the awl, carefully remove and reposition it.

This awl excels at threading and pulling the needle from the same side of the material (see video). Each awl is individually hand-crafted with minimal mechanization, ensuring a superior quality you won’t find in ordinary hardware stores. Every awl undergoes rigorous testing (see video). While slight variations exist due to the handmade nature, this doesn’t affect performance (see photos).
