Armosplint Glass Fiber Reinforcement Tape for Dental Applications (3pcs)
English Description:
Armosplint glass fiber reinforcement tape provides exceptional strength and aesthetic properties for a wide range of dental applications. This pack contains three 90mm long, 2mm wide, and 0.25mm thick tapes, ideal for reinforcing dental restorations and creating strong, durable structures.
Key Applications:
- Crown and intracoronal fixation (splinting) of mobile teeth.
- Retention of teeth to secure orthodontic treatment results.
- Immobilization of teeth following traumatic luxation or subluxation.
- Direct method replacement of tooth defects.
- Indirect method fabrication of adhesive prostheses and splinting structures in a dental laboratory.
- Restoration of the coronal portion of a tooth.
Composition and Key Properties:
The Armosplint kit includes: high-modulus glass fiber tape, wetting liquid, flowable composite, and an adhesive system. The glass fiber tape features a special high-modulus weave with silanized glass fibers encased in polyester microfibers, ensuring excellent bonding with the composite. Its key advantages include:
- Flexibility for adaptation to uneven tooth surfaces.
- Compatibility with all flowable composites.
- Grindability if accidentally exposed.
- Moisture resistance.
- High transparency, mimicking the natural tooth color and enhancing aesthetics; can even act as an opacifier in some cases.
- Easy handling; no special storage, gloves, or tools required. Cuttable with standard scissors without unraveling.
- Precise measurement using a measuring probe or soft aluminum foil.
- Excellent wettability with the provided liquid for strong bonding with the composite.
The flowable composite is a low-viscosity, light-curing paste available in various VITA shades (A2, A3, A3.5, B2, C2, cutting edge) based on a polymer binder and modified, finely dispersed filler. The adhesive system comprises a primer and adhesive, creating a strong bond between the composite and tooth tissues. The primer, thanks to polyfunctional hydrophilic oligomers, perfectly wets the dentin surface and penetrates the dentinal tubules. The adhesive, along with hydrophilic molecules, contains polymerizable resins ensuring a chemical bond with the composite.
Advantages of Armosplint Technology:
- Fast and simple application.
- Minimal tooth preparation.
- Excellent aesthetics due to the glass fiber’s transparency.
- Strong structure formation through micromechanical retention and chemical adhesion of the reinforcing tape to the composite material.
- Repair and fabrication possibilities in a single appointment.
