How to Put On Your Compression Stockings:

By Hand:

  1. Put them on in the morning. Ensure your nails are trimmed and rings are removed.
  2. Sit on a bed or chair. Bend your knee.
  3. Place the stocking inside out.
  4. Insert your hand to the heel, grasp the heel, and turn the stocking inside out only to the heel.
  5. Insert two thumbs inside, stretch it wide.
  6. Pull up the heel and align it with your heel.
  7. Make a small fold at mid-foot, grasp it and stretch it to the instep.
  8. Continue pulling up section by section, smoothing out wrinkles until the stocking reaches the thigh. Correct the heel position if necessary.

Using a Dressing Aid (Butler):

  1. Place the aid on the floor.
  2. Hold the stocking with the heel facing you.
  3. Stretch the stocking onto the aid to the heel.
  4. Insert your foot, placing your foot flat on the floor.
  5. Pull the aid up to your knee.
  6. Remove the aid.
  7. Smooth out any wrinkles.

How to Remove Your Compression Stockings:

  1. Grasp the top and gently roll the stocking downwards, avoiding pulling on the elastic band.
