Name:
Guttasil tab. 7.5 mg in bl. in pack. No. 10х1
Description:
Tablets of white or almost white color, ploskotsilindrichesky, with risk and a facet. The main active substance Sodium picosulfate Release form Tablets Dosage 1 tablet contains sodium picosulfate 7.5 mg; Pharmacological properties Contact laxatives. ATC code A06A B08. Pharmacodynamics Contact laxative of the triarylmethane group, activated in the colon by the action of bacterial sulfatases; the substance that is released in this case stimulates the sensitive nerve endings of the intestinal mucosa, enhances its motility, promotes the accumulation of water and electrolytes in the lumen of the colon. The result of this is stimulation of defecation, reduction of transit time and softening of the stool. The use of the drug is not accompanied by tenesmus and intestinal spasms. The laxative effect develops 6-12 hours after ingestion, the severity of the laxative effect does not correlate with the level of active diphenol in the blood plasma. Pharmacokinetics After oral administration, it reaches the large intestine without significant absorption, so there is no intrahepatic circulation. Under the action of the bacterial flora, it is cleaved to form the active form (free diphenol). Indications for use Constipation or cases requiring relief of bowel movements. Dosage and administration Assign inside, preferably at night. Adults and children over 10 years old – 7.5 mg (1 tablet) 1 time per day. For severe and persistent constipation, adults are recommended to take 15 mg once. The tablets should be taken with a sufficient amount of water. Do not exceed the recommended dose. The optimal dose is the minimum sufficient dose to obtain the desired effect. The duration of treatment is set individually, usually it does not exceed 5 days. Use during pregnancy and lactation Use during pregnancy is not recommended. During the period of treatment with Guttasil, breast-feeding should be stopped. Precautions Like other laxatives, Guttasil is not recommended for more than 5 days without determining the cause of constipation. Prolonged and excessive use can lead to a violation of the water or electrolyte balance, hypokalemia. Dizziness and/or syncope have been observed in patients treated with sodium picosulfate. Available data on these cases suggest that the events are consistent with defecation syncope (or syncope associated with an attempt to void) or a vasovagal response to abdominal pain associated with constipation, and not necessarily with sodium picosulfate. Use with caution in hypokalemia, high magnesium levels in the blood, in patients with a weakened body. The drug contains lactose, which should be borne in mind in patients with hereditary lactose intolerance. Interaction with other drugs Electrolyte imbalance can lead to a decrease in tolerance to cardiac glycosides. Diuretics or glucocorticosteroids may increase the severity of hypokalemia caused by the use of Guttasil in high doses. Simultaneous treatment with antibiotics may reduce the laxative effect of the drug. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; intestinal obstruction; acute inflammatory bowel disease and acute diseases of the abdominal organs (including acute appendicitis, ulcerative colitis, peritonitis); abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting of unknown origin; condition after surgery on the gastrointestinal tract; severe dehydration, pregnancy, lactation period, children under 10 years of age. In the case of rare hereditary conditions, which may result in hypersensitivity to the excipients of the drug (see section “Precautions”), the drug is contraindicated. Composition 1 tablet contains sodium picosulfate 7.5 mg; excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, pregelatinized starch 1500, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate. OverdoseSymptoms High doses of Guttasil can cause loose stools, abdominal cramps (colic) and clinically significant fluid and electrolyte imbalances (hypokalemia, loss of other electrolytes and fluids). There are reports of colonic mucosal ischemia with higher doses of Guttasil, well above those usually recommended for constipation. Prolonged overdose leads to the development of chronic diarrhea and abdominal pain, hypokalemia, secondary hyperaldosteronism, possible kidney damage and the development of nephrolithiasis, metabolic alkalosis and muscle weakness as a result of hypokalemia. Treatment Cancellation of the drug, induction of vomiting, gastric lavage, intake of enterosorbents (activated charcoal), symptomatic treatment (correction of water and electrolyte balance, which is especially important for elderly patients and children, the use of antispasmodics). Side effect Evaluation of undesirable effects is based on the following data on the frequency of occurrence: very often (? 1/10), often (? 1/100 to < 1/10), infrequently (? 1/1,000 to < 1/100), rarely (? 1/10,000 to < 1/1000), very rare (< 1/10,000), not known (cannot be estimated from the available data). With short-term use of the drug, side effects are rare. With prolonged use of the drug in significantly increased doses, violations are possible: on the part of the water and electrolyte balance: loss of potassium, sodium and other electrolytes, dehydration may develop; from the digestive system: very often - diarrhea, often - abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, abdominal cramps, rarely - nausea, vomiting, flatulence, increased intestinal motility; from the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions, including angioedema, urticaria, skin rashes, itching; from the side of the central nervous system: very rarely - headache, fatigue, drowsiness, convulsions, dizziness, fainting. If side effects occur, tell your doctor about it. This applies to all possible side effects, including those not described in this package insert. Storage conditions Store in a place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. Keep out of the reach of children.
