ARS Decompression Needle for Pneumothorax: 8.25cm – Single Unit
Description:
The ARS (Air Release System) decompression needle is designed for the immediate treatment of tension pneumothorax. Its open-ended design, unlike traditional catheters, allows for immediate visual confirmation of proper placement and decompression, a critical factor in patient survival. This patented design significantly increases the likelihood of successful first aid in tension pneumothorax emergencies.
Developed in collaboration with leading medical professionals and first responders, the ARS needle underwent two years of rigorous testing and refinement in real-world field conditions. The design incorporates feedback from paramedics and emergency medical technicians, utilizing evidence-based medicine and engineering psychology to create a highly reliable and user-friendly device, even under extreme stress. The easy-open packaging protects the needle from damage, while the absence of a protective cap ensures immediate usability.
The ARS needle boasts a unique, patented design, is standardized for use in NATO and US Army field medic kits, and has proven its effectiveness in countless situations. Its appropriate length and catheter allow for safe and effective pleural access across a wide range of patient builds.
Symptoms of Pneumothorax:
- Rapid, shallow breathing
- Unilateral chest pain (sharp increase or decrease in chest expansion)
- Tracheal deviation
- Jugular vein distention (JVD)
- Subcutaneous emphysema (air under the skin of the chest wall)
Instructions for Use:
- Locate the insertion site: The intercostal space between the 2nd and 3rd ribs (approximately 8-10 centimeters below the clavicle) is ideal. Align the ARS needle against the patient’s chest; if one end touches the clavicle, the other should be at the 2nd intercostal space.
- Disinfect the area.
- Open the packaging and remove the ARS needle.
- Place the needle tip against the skin, directly above the upper border of the 3rd rib.
- Maintaining skin contact, align the decompression needle between the rib and clavicle, creating a 90-degree angle between the needle and the chest wall.
- Gently and smoothly insert the needle until it reaches the stop (orange cap), ensuring it is not inserted medially to the nipple line or towards the heart.
- Remove the needle from the catheter, leaving the catheter in place.
- Secure the catheter.
For comprehensive emergency treatment, consider complementing the ARS needle with:
- BIO granules (15g/35g): For enhanced emergency care.
- Hypogloss bandage Z dressings: For clotting activation.
- Rhino Rescue isothermal blanket: To prevent shock.
- Appolo gel pack (5g): For thermal injuries.
- 5x20cm / 3x20cm bandages
- 13x18cm sterile wipes
The ARS decompression needle is an essential component of any tactical or emergency medical kit, providing critical life-saving assistance in accidents, disasters, and military operations. Be prepared for emergencies! Compact enough for any medical bag or kit.
