NameVzor. Forms of release: eye drops What is the drug and what is it used for? VZOR is used to eliminate swelling and redness of the eyes in non-infectious catarrhal conjunctivitis caused by an allergic reaction or exposure to smoke, wind, chlorinated water, light. Children under 6 years of age are prescribed under the supervision of a physician. Do not use the drug if you are allergic to tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride or any other component of the drug indicated in the Composition section, you have narrow-angle glaucoma (a disease accompanied by an increase in intraocular pressure), you wear soft lenses (lenses must be removed before instillation and installed no earlier than than 15 minutes) in children under 2 years of age. If you are not sure if any of the above applies to you, tell your doctor before using the drug. Special instructions and precautions Before using the drug VZOR, consult your doctor if: you have severe cardiovascular disease, such as coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, arrhythmia (heart rhythm disturbance), aneurysm (protrusion of the vessel wall), you have an overactive thyroid gland, you have a pheochromocytoma (a tumor of the adrenal glands), you have diabetes, you are taking drugs that can increase blood pressure. If within 48 hours the condition does not improve or irritation and redness persist or increase, stop using the drug and consult a doctor. If you develop severe eye pain, headache, change or loss of vision, sudden floating spots before the eyes, redness of the eyes, pain when exposed to light, or double vision, seek medical attention immediately. Do not use VZOR if irritation or redness is associated with serious diseases of the organ of vision: infection, foreign body, or chemical injury to the cornea. Excessive or prolonged use of the drug may lead to increased redness of the eyes. Do not use the drug if the solution has changed color or become cloudy. Excipients to be aware of VZOR contains benzalkonium chloride, which can cause eye irritation and discolor soft contact lenses. If you wear contact lenses Avoid contact with soft contact lenses. Before using the drug, remove contact lenses and put them back on no earlier than 15 minutes later. The drug may change the color of soft contact lenses. Children VZOR is contraindicated in children under 2 years of age. Long-term use of the drug and exceeding the recommended dose should be avoided, especially in children. Use the drug in children with caution and only under the supervision of a physician. Other drugsCheck with your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or may start taking any other medicines. This also applies to any over-the-counter medications. Talk to your doctor if you are taking: maprotiline (an antidepressant), tricyclic antidepressants (eg, amitriptyline, imipramine), phenothiazine derivatives (drugs used to treat mental disorders), monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors (eg, isocarboxazid, tranylcypromine), drugs that increase blood pressure, other ophthalmic drugs. The use of the drug VZOR simultaneously with MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants can lead to an increase in blood pressure. Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, are planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding, consult your physician before using this medicine. VZOR should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless absolutely necessary. Driving and using machines VZOR may cause pupillary dilation and blurred vision, which may affect the ability to drive and use machines. How to use this medicine Always use this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. If in doubt, consult your doctor. Dose: 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye 2-3 times a day. Use in children and adolescents: In children older than 2 years, the drug is used in the same doses as in adults. For children under the age of 6 years, the drug is prescribed under the supervision of a physician. Children under 12 years of age should use the drug under adult supervision. Use in elderly patients: Dose adjustment is not required. Duration of use VZOR should be used only in case of mild eye irritation. Do not use VZOR for more than 4 days without consulting a doctor. If your condition does not improve or irritation and redness increase, stop using the drug and consult a doctor. Long-term use of the drug and exceeding the recommended dose should be avoided, especially in children. If you think that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor. Method of application VZOR preparation is intended only for instillation into the eyes. When using the drug, it is recommended to lightly press the inner corner of the eye with your finger to close the nasolacrimal canal and not open your eyes for 2 minutes after using the drug. Before use, carefully read this section and follow the steps below in the text in sequence. 1. Remove the vial from the package. 2. If the vial is sealed with an aluminum cap: position the scissors at an angle of 45 degrees to the cap, prying up on its lower edge, remove the aluminum cap together with the rubber cap (Fig. A 1-2). 3. If the vial is sealed with a cap with a plastic cap or a combined cap: pull the plastic cap with force from the side of the cuts, lifting it vertically, then pull sharply down along the vial to break the integrity of the cap. Remove the aluminum cap and rubber stopper (Figure B 1-2). 4. Remove the dropper from the package and tightly put it on the vial (Fig. 3). 5. Turn the vial upright to remove the air bubble and wait a few seconds. In the case of a large bubble, return the vial to its original position, and then slowly repeat the action by gently tapping the bottom of the vial (Fig. 4). 6. Drop the drops by pressing the pipette with your index finger and thumb (Fig. 5). Do not touch the pipette to the eye or other surfaces – this may lead to infection of the solution. 7. Turning the vial over, close the pipette with a special stopper (Fig. 6). If you have taken more VZOR than you should In case of an overdose of VZOR, contact your doctor immediately. When the drug is instilled into the eyes, the risk of overdose is minimal. In case of a significant excess of the recommended dose or ingestion of the drug, the following overdose symptoms may occur: dilated pupil, nausea, bluish skin tone (cyanosis), fever, convulsions, rapid heartbeat, irregular heart rate, cardiac arrest; increased blood pressure, pulmonary edema, respiratory failure, dysfunction of the central nervous system, coma. Isolated cases of lowering blood pressure, slowing heart rate, drowsiness, and lowering body temperature have been reported. The risk of overdose symptoms is high in newborns and young children, especially if swallowed. When applied topically, an overdose of VZOR may result in a burning sensation and an increase in the blood supply to the vessels of the eye (hyperemia). In case of overdose, it is recommended to flush the eye with saline. If you forget to take VZOR If you forget to take VZOR, do it next time at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you have any questions about the use of the drug, contact your doctor. Possible side effects Like all medicines, VZOR can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. The following adverse reactions may occur: Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): eye irritation (pain, stinging, burning), blurred vision. Frequency not known: Increased lacrimation, dilated pupils, reactions at the injection site (including burning in the eyes and around the eyes, redness, irritation, swelling, pain, itching). Perhaps the development of allergic reactions. Prolonged or frequent use of the drug VZOR is addictive and may cause an increase in the blood supply to the vessels of the eye (hyperemia). After stopping therapy, blood vessels may re-expand (vasodilation). Reporting Adverse Reactions If you experience any adverse reactions, please consult your physician.
