Name Artificial tear. Release form Drops. FTGKeratoprotector. What it is and what it is used for ARTIFICIAL TEARS are used to relieve dry eyes caused by insufficient secretion of natural tear fluid. Replenishing the lack of natural tears helps moisturize the eye and reduce irritation. Do not use this medicine if • you are allergic to hypromellose, dextran 60, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in the Composition section. If you are not sure if any of the above applies to you, tell your doctor before using the drug. Special instructions and precautions If you experience headache, eye pain, blurred vision, eye irritation, prolonged redness, and if dry eyes worsen or persist for more than 3 days, stop using the drug and consult your doctor. Do not use if the solution changes color or becomes cloudy. ARTIFICIAL TEARS contains benzalkonium chloride, which may irritate the eyes. Avoid contact with soft contact lenses. Before using the drug, remove contact lenses and put them back on no earlier than 15 minutes after use. ARTIFICIAL TEARS can change the color of soft contact lenses. Children. Adequate and controlled studies have not been conducted; there are no data on the possibility of using the drug in children. Other medicinesCheck with your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or may start taking any other medicines. This also applies to any over-the-counter medications. If you are using several topical ophthalmic preparations, keep an interval of at least 5 minutes between their use. Eye ointments should be used after ARTIFICIAL TEARS. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor before using ARTIFICIAL TEARS. Presumably, the components of the drug are not absorbed systemically, do not exhibit systemic toxicity and do not affect reproductive function and intrauterine development. It is not known whether hypromellose, dextran 60 or other components of the drug are excreted in breast milk. Driving and operating machines ARTIFICIAL TEARS may cause blurred vision. If this reaction occurs, refrain from driving and operating machinery. How to use this medicine Always use this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. If in doubt, consult your doctor. Dose 1-2 drops as needed (as directed by your doctor). How to use The drug ARTIFICIAL TEAR is intended for instillation into the conjunctival sac. Before use, carefully read this section and follow the steps shown below in the text and in Figures 1-6 in sequence. 1. Remove the vial from the package. 2. If the vial is sealed with an aluminum cap: position the scissors at an angle of 45 degrees to the cap, prying up on its lower edge, remove the aluminum cap together with the rubber cap (Fig. A 1-2). 3. If the vial is sealed with an aluminum cap with a plastic cap: pull the plastic cap with force from the side of the cuts, lifting it vertically, then pull sharply down along the vial to break the integrity of the cap. Remove the aluminum cap and rubber stopper (Figure B 1-2). 4. Remove the dropper from the package and tightly put it on the vial (Fig. 3). 5. Turn the vial upright to remove the air bubble and wait a few seconds. In the case of a large bubble, return the vial to its original position, and then slowly repeat the action by gently tapping the bottom of the vial (Fig. 4). 6. Drop the drops by pressing the pipette with your index finger and thumb (Fig. 5). Do not touch the pipette to the eye or other surfaces – this may lead to infection of the solution. 7. Turning the vial over, close the pipette with a special stopper (Fig. 6). If you have taken more ARTIFICIAL TEARS than you should have, there is no information on overdose cases. If necessary, flush eyes with plenty of warm water. If you forget to take ARTIFICIAL TEARS If you forget to take the drug, do it next time at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you have any questions about the use of the drug, contact your doctor. Possible side effects Like all medicines, ARTIFICIAL TEARS can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. The following adverse reactions may occur: Very common (may affect more than 1 in 10 people): • Blurred vision. Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): • residual dry eye, eyelid disease, unusual sensations, foreign body sensation, or eye discomfort. Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people): • headache, photophobia, decreased eye sensitivity, itching, eye irritation, redness of the eye, discomfort (skin). Frequency unknown: • allergic reactions, eyelid redness, eye swelling, eye pain, eye discharge, inflammation of the eyelid margins, increased lacrimation. Reporting Adverse Reactions If you experience any adverse reactions, talk to your doctor. This recommendation applies to any possible adverse reactions, including those not listed in the package insert. You can also report adverse reactions to the information database on adverse reactions (actions) to drugs, including reports of drug inefficiency, identified in the state (UE “Center for Expertise and Testing in Healthcare of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus”, rceth.by). Appearance of the drug and contents of the package ARTIFICIAL TEARS, solution (eye drops), is a clear, colorless or yellowish liquid. 5 ml in glass bottles, sealed with rubber stoppers and rolled in aluminum or aluminum caps with a plastic lining.
