Dosage 100 mg Indications for use Stopdiar® should always be used as directed by a physician. If you have any doubts, you should re-consult your doctor. Adults are usually prescribed 1 capsule 4 times a day (every 6 hours). Children over the age of 7 years are usually prescribed 1 capsule three to four times a day (every 6-8 hours). Stopdiar® is intended for oral use. Capsules should be swallowed whole with a small amount of water. The drug should be taken at regular intervals. Stopdiar® should not be taken for longer than 3 days without consulting a doctor. If symptoms of dehydration appear during treatment with the drug, it is necessary, depending on the clinical condition of the patient, to carry out rehydration therapy. If you have the impression that Stopdiar® is too strong or too weak, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist. Taking the drug at a dose higher than the recommended one In case of taking the drug at a dose higher than the recommended one, you should immediately consult a doctor. The doctor should show the packaging of the drug. Skipping the next dose of the drug The next dose of the drug must be taken at the appointed time. You can not take a double dose of the drug to make up for the missed dose. Discontinuation of the drug Do not stop treatment earlier than 3 days without consulting a doctor, even if the patient feels better. The appearance of severe adverse reactions may mean the need for immediate medical attention and inpatient treatment. There is a possibility of the following adverse reactions: – abdominal pain – nausea – exacerbation of diarrhea. In addition, the following adverse reactions rarely appear: – skin rash – acne on the skin – itching and bumps on the skin. – angioedema – anaphylactic reactions In case of hypersensitivity reactions, such as shortness of breath, swelling of the face, tongue, lips, skin rash, itching, you should immediately stop using the drug. If any adverse reactions occur, including those not listed in this leaflet, you should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor. Interactions with other drugs You should inform your doctor or pharmacist about all recently taken medicines, including those available without a prescription. – Drinking alcoholic beverages while using Stopdiar may cause acute and dangerous intolerance reactions (so-called disulfiram-like reactions). – When treating with nifuroxazide, the simultaneous administration of other oral agents should be avoided due to the strong adsorption properties of the drug. Precautions – If diarrhea does not stop after 3 days of using Stopdiar®, the doctor will conduct tests to determine the cause of the symptoms and decide on the need for antibiotic therapy. – In case of severe diarrhea, the patient should take an antibiotic prescribed by the doctor instead of Stopdiar®, since Stopdiar® is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. – In the event of an allergic reaction with symptoms such as shortness of breath, swelling of the face, tongue, lips, rash, itching, Stopdiar® should be discontinued. – The drug should be used in compliance with a strict diet, excluding juices, raw vegetables and fruits, as well as spicy and indigestible foods.
