Description:
Homogeneous white or yellowish cream with a specific odor. Pharmacotherapeutic groupDermatology. Preparations for the treatment of wounds and ulcers. Wound healing drugs. Wound healing drugs, others. Dexpanthenol. ATC code D03AX03 Pharmacological properties RECREOL® cream (RECREOL®) contains the active substance dexpanthenol, which belongs to the group of drugs for the treatment of wounds and ulcers. Dexpanthenol, also known as provitamin B5, helps speed up the healing process in wounds. In tissues, it is converted to pantothenic acid. Pantothenic acid restores skin elasticity and accelerates wound healing. Pharmacokinetics Absorption Dexpanthenol is rapidly absorbed in the skin, immediately converted to pantothenic acid, which is widely distributed in body tissues, mainly in the form of coenzyme A. Distribution After topical application of the drug, pantothenic acid is concentrated in the hair, hair roots, nails, epidermis and dermis. Withdrawal Pantothenic acid is excreted mainly unchanged in the urine and to a lesser extent in the feces. Pharmacodynamics Dexpanthenol in tissues is converted to pantothenic acid, which is an integral part of coenzyme A (CoA) and plays an important role in maintaining the normal function of the epithelium, increasing fibroblast proliferation and accelerating skin regeneration in the process of wound healing. This process of cell division and formation of new skin tissues restores skin elasticity and stimulates wound healing. Indications for use For the treatment of superficial skin lesions (small burns and cracks in the skin, abrasions and cracks in the skin), inflammation of the skin (which occurs when exposed to radiation therapy, phototherapy or ultraviolet radiation). Method of application and doses For external use. Usually the cream is applied in a thin layer to the damaged area of the skin once or several times a day. The duration of the course of treatment depends on the nature and severity of the disease. Dexpanthenol is applied topically one to several times a day.
