Name:
Protector cream for nar. approx. in tubes
Description:
Cream for external use in tubes The main active ingredient Dexpanthenol Release form 15 g or 30 g in a tube, 1 tube in a pack. Dosage 15g per pack. No. 1 Cautions Cetostearyl alcohol may cause locally limited skin irritation (eg contact dermatitis). Protector is not recommended for use in the treatment of skin irritations, in cases of possible infection (with sunburn). With a progressive worsening of symptoms, a doctor should be consulted. Pharmacodynamics Chlorhexidine bigluconate has a pronounced antimicrobial effect and has been used for many years as a disinfectant. The spectrum of action of the drug is wide and includes gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Activity against mycobacteria, dermatophytes and fungi is low. Ineffective against fungal spores. Dexpanthenol is an alcoholic analogue of pantothenic acid, which is an integral part of coenzyme A. The use of the drug stimulated the extracorporeal proliferation of fibroblasts, which under natural conditions led to the strengthening of aponeuroses. In animal models, the addition of 5% dexpanthenol limited unwanted epithelialization and proliferation by inhibiting the properties of chlorhexidine bigluconate. PharmacokineticsAbout 10% of chlorhexidine is absorbed after application to the skin and thus exhibits a long-term local disinfecting effect. In adults, after repeated use of chlorhexidine on healthy skin, unabsorbed particles of the drug may be determined. The predominant part of pantothenic acid is excreted unchanged in the urine, a small part – in the feces. Indications for use For antiseptic treatment of superficial wounds, abrasions, cracks and scratches. Method of application and doses Protector is recommended to be applied topically twice a day. The duration of treatment depends on the nature and course of the disease and is about 1-2 weeks. Use during pregnancy and lactation Pregnancy There are no data on the effect of dexpanthenol and chlorhexidine on pregnancy. Animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect negative effects on pregnancy, embryonic/fetal development, labor and postpartum development. However, the drug should not be used during pregnancy. Lactation There are no clinical data on the effect of dexpanthenol and chlorhexidine when used during lactation and on penetration into breast milk. During the period of breastfeeding, do not apply Protector in the chest area. Precautions Cetostearyl alcohol may cause locally limited skin irritation (eg contact dermatitis). Protector is not recommended for use in the treatment of skin irritations, in cases of possible infection (with sunburn). With a progressive worsening of symptoms, a doctor should be consulted. Interaction with other drugs Chlorhexidine is incompatible with saponifying and other anionic substances. To prevent potential inactivation and antagonism, the drug should not be used simultaneously with other antiseptics. Contraindications Antiseptic Cream Protector should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine, dexpanthenol or any of the components. The drug also cannot be used to treat deep and bleeding wounds, with leg ulcers, under occlusive dressings. Avoid getting the drug in the eyes, ears and mucous membranes.
