Description:
Homogeneous gel, transparent or slightly opalescent, from colorless to pale yellow, practically odorless. Air bubbles are allowed. The main active ingredient Dimetindene Product form gel Dosage 30 g Pharmacological properties Pheniden gel reduces itching and skin irritation. When applied topically, the drug begins to act in a few minutes. The maximum effect is achieved after 1 – 4 hours. Indications for use To relieve itching from insect bites and skin diseases: mild and small area burns, incl. sunburn, localized allergic skin diseases (eczema, urticaria). Dosage and administration Externally. For adults and children over 2 years of age, the gel is applied to the affected skin surfaces 2-4 times a day. In children under 2 years of age, the drug is used only after consulting a doctor. If during the period of use of the drug the severity of symptoms does not decrease or worsening of the condition is observed, a doctor’s consultation is necessary to clarify the diagnosis. The duration of the drug is determined by the doctor, taking into account the characteristics of the disease, the effect achieved and the tolerability of the drug. Use during pregnancy and lactation Before using the drug for pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor. When using the gel, care should be taken. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug should not be used for a long time and on large areas of the skin, especially if there is inflammation and damage on it. OverdoseSymptoms If a significant amount of gel is accidentally ingested, symptoms characteristic of an overdose of H1-antihistamines of systemic action may appear: depression of the central nervous system, drowsiness (mainly in adults), stimulation of the central nervous system and anticholinergic effects (especially in children), incl. h. excitation, ataxia, hallucinations, tonic-clonic convulsions, mydriasis, dry mouth, flushing of the face, impaired urination, fever. Arterial hypotension is possible. Treatment Recommended gastric lavage, activated charcoal, saline laxatives, symptomatic therapy. In case of ingestion of the gel, consult a doctor immediately. Side effects: Light and transient reactions may occur at the site of application of the drug. Sometimes – dryness and burning of the skin; very rarely – allergic dermatitis.
