The main active substance Chloropyramine Release form cream for external use Dosage 1% 18 g Pharmacological properties Pharmacodynamics Chloropyramine relieves histamine-induced vasodilation, increased vascular permeability and tissue edema. Along with the antihistamine action, chloropyramine has anticholinergic properties and can cause undesirable muscarinic effects when used systemically, such as dryness of the oral mucosa, constinence, visual disturbances and increased intraocular pressure, urinary retention. Penetrates the blood-brain barrier and binds to H1 receptors in the central nervous system. As a result, its action, like other H1 receptor antagonists, can cause drowsiness, a feeling of weakness and fatigue, and dizziness. May have a weak antiemetic effect. When applied topically, chloropyramine relieves redness and itching to a high degree, reduces vascular permeability, inhibits secretion, reduces tissue swelling, and soothes the appearance of a skin rash. Pharmacokinetics There are no data on the absorption of chloropyramine through the skin or data on the achievement of clinically significant plasma concentrations when applied topically to intact skin. Indications for use The drug Chloropyramine is intended for adults, children and infants with: insect bites; contact dermatitis and other itchy dermatosis; rashes and itching in various allergic conditions without systemic manifestations. Method of application and dosage The drug is intended for external use. Adults and children (from infancy to 18 years of age) – apply a thin layer of cream to the affected areas of the skin 2-3 times a day, easily rubbing into the skin. Elderly patients over 65 years of age and debilitated patients: the use of the drug in this category of patients requires special care due to the manifestation of hypersensitivity to antihistamines in relation to their side effects. The drug can be used under an occlusive dressing or through physiotherapeutic procedures in order to increase its penetrating power and for a faster therapeutic effect. Duration of treatment: 5 – 7 days. Use during pregnancy and lactation There are no data on the resorption of the drug through the skin and on the development of systemic effects when applied topically. Clinical studies of the safety and efficacy of the drug Chloropyramine in pregnant and lactating women have not been conducted. The use of the drug is possible with extreme caution, only on the recommendation and under the supervision of a physician, after assessing the benefit / risk ratio for the mother, fetus and child. Interaction with other drugs There are no data on interaction with other drugs. Simultaneous use with other topical drugs is not recommended.
