Name:
Finalgon ointment (4mg+25mg)/1g in tubes 20g complete with appl. No. 1
Description:
Almost colorless or slightly brownish, transparent or slightly opaque, soft homogeneous ointment. The main active ingredient Nonivamide + nicoboxyl Product form ointment Dosage (4mg + 25mg) / 1g Pharmacological properties Pharmacodynamics FINALGON contains two vasodilators that cause intense, lasting for several hours, thermal skin irritation. Nonivamide It is a synthetic analogue of capsaicin and has analgesic properties that appear as a result of the release of the active substance into peripheral nociceptive C-fibers and A-delta nerve fibers when the drug is repeatedly applied to the skin. By stimulating sensitive skin nerve endings, it has a dilating effect on the surrounding blood vessels, which is accompanied by a strong and prolonged sensation of warmth. Nicoboxyl Nicotinic acid is a B vitamin with prostaglandin-mediated vasodilating properties. The hyperemic effect of nicoboxyl begins earlier and is more intense than that of nonivamide. Combined action Nonivamide and nicoboxyl have complementary vasodilating properties, which reduces the time to the onset of skin flushing after application of the ointment. This leads to an increase in local blood circulation of the skin, due to which FINALGON causes a prolonged sensation of warmth. Pharmacokinetics Finalgon is applied topically, the clinical effect occurs at the site of application. There are no data on systemic effects. The reaction (erythema and skin temperature increase) develops a few minutes after application, indicating rapid penetration of the active ingredients. Indications for use Promotes increased blood flow in the skin in patients with muscle and joint pain. Symptomatic treatment of musculoskeletal pain. Dosage and administrationAt the beginning of treatment, a small amount of FINALGON is applied to a small area of the skin to test the individual response. The response to the application of the ointment varies significantly: some patients need a very small amount of ointment to produce a sensation of warmth, while in some patients this effect will be mild or absent. The initial dose should not exceed see ointment (i.e., about the size of a pea) for a palm-sized surface area of skin. Even a small amount will cause a feeling of warmth, which will appear a few minutes after application and will fully manifest itself after 20-30 minutes. With subsequent applications, the dose may increase depending on individual tolerance. The maximum recommended application dose is 1 cm for a palm-sized skin surface. FINALGON is used as needed up to 2-3 times a day. Do not use more than three times a day. Children and adolescents The safety and efficacy of FINALGON in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been studied. How to use For application to the skin. The ointment should be spread on the painful area with light movements using the supplied applicator. After applying FINALGON, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Application during pregnancy and lactation Due to the lack of data on the use of the drug during pregnancy or lactation, FINALGON should not be used during these periods. Studies of the effect on human fertility have not been conducted. Precautions In connection with local hyperemia of the skin caused by FINALGON, redness, a feeling of warmth, itching or burning sensation may appear. These symptoms may be particularly pronounced if an excessive amount of FINALGON is applied, or if FINALGON is rubbed too hard into the skin. Excessive amounts or rubbing of the ointment can lead to blistering. Patients should be informed that: – immediately after each application of FINALGON, hands should be washed thoroughly with soap and water to avoid getting the ointment on other skin areas or other people; – FINALGON should not, under any circumstances, come into contact with the face, eyes or mouth, because this can lead to temporary swelling of the face, pain, irritation of the conjunctiva, redness of the eyes, burning in the eyes, blurred vision, discomfort in the oral cavity and stomatitis; – FINALGON should not be used on sensitive areas of the skin such as the neck, groin or inner thighs; – fair-haired people and people with hypersensitivity of the skin usually react more strongly, so thermal irritation can be achieved by using a smaller amount of FINALGON; – Do not take a hot bath or shower before or after applying FINALGON. Even a few hours after the application of FINALGON, sweating or heating can cause reddening of the skin and a strong feeling of warmth. FINALGON ointment contains sorbic acid as an excipient, which can cause local reactions (eg contact dermatitis). If after using the drug there is no effect or if the condition worsens, you should consult a doctor. Interaction with other drugs Interactions with other drugs used topically or systemically have not been identified. Contraindications – Hypersensitivity to nonivamide, nicoboxyl, as well as any of the excipients; – very sensitive skin; – open wounds; – dermatitis; – skin diseases. Composition 1 g of ointment contains: nonivamide 4 mg, nicoboxyl 25 mg. Excipients: diisopropyl adipate, colloidal silicon dioxide, white soft paraffin, sorbic acid, Ceylon citronella oil, purified water. OverdoseSymptoms After applying too much FINALGON, its hyperemic effect may increase, and the severity of the described side effects may increase. Applying too much may cause skin damage, particularly blistering. Since nicoboxyl is well absorbed through the skin, an overdose of FINALGON can lead to systemic reactions, such as redness of the upper body, fever, hot flashes, hyperemia with painful sensations and a decrease in blood pressure. Therapy If an excessive amount of FINALGON is applied, the effect can be reduced by removing the ointment from the skin surface with an oily cloth (eg olive oil) or a sponge with cream. Treatment is symptomatic. In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical attention immediately. Treatment is symptomatic.
