Indomethacin gel dnar.prim.50mg1g in tubes 30g in pack No. 1
Description:
Uniform, transparent or almost transparent gel of yellow color. Air bubbles are allowed. The main active ingredient Indomethacin Form of release gel Dosage 30g Pharmacological properties Indomethacin has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-edematous effect, which results in a reduction in pain, swelling of tissues and a reduction in the recovery time of affected joints and tissues. The main mechanism of action is associated with inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes, which leads to inhibition of the synthesis of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid. Indomethacin also inhibits platelet aggregation. The hydrophilic base of the gel ensures complete solubility of the active ingredient and its maximum release. Indomethacin in the form of a gel is well absorbed from the skin surface, which, as a result of the high concentration created in the underlying tissues, provides a therapeutic effect. Indications for use acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the joints (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis); rheumatic affection of soft tissues (tendinitis, tendovaginitis, bursitis, fasciitis); disc herniation, neuritis, plexitis, radiculitis; postoperative edema, hematomas, dislocations, sprains. Method of application and dosesAdults The drug is intended for external use on the skin. The gel is rubbed into the skin of the painful area with a thin layer 3-4 times a day. The amount of gel sufficient for one treatment is about 4-5 cm; the daily dose should not exceed 20 cm. The duration of treatment should not exceed 10 days. Children over 14 years Single and daily doses are approximately equal to half the dose for adults – the amount of the drug sufficient for one procedure is about 2-2.5 cm of gel; the daily dose should not exceed 10 cm. The duration of treatment is no more than 10 days. The gel should be applied only to intact skin, avoiding contact with eyes and mucous membranes. In severe violations of the liver and kidneys, long-term use of the drug, especially on large areas of the skin, is not recommended. Use during pregnancy and lactation Indomethacin gel is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation. Precautions The drug should only be applied to undamaged skin. Avoid getting the gel in the eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds. It is not recommended to use the drug in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to food and drugs, bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis. Long-term use of the drug, especially on large areas of the skin, should be limited in severe liver and kidney disease. With prolonged (more than 10 days) treatment, possible manifestations of systemic effects should be monitored – hepatotoxicity, severe headache, bleeding, as well as a blood picture (leukocyte and platelet count). Caution should be exercised while using the drug with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Do not use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. When used together with antibiotics, anticoagulants and antidiabetic agents, it is necessary to control the relevant laboratory parameters. The product contains propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation. Use in children The use of the drug in children under 14 years of age is contraindicated due to lack of sufficient clinical experience. Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and other complex mechanisms Indomethacin gel does not affect the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other complex mechanisms. Interaction with other drugs There is no evidence of adverse interactions with other drugs in the external use of indomethacin. Simultaneous use with corticosteroids is not recommended due to the possibility of increasing their ulcerogenic effect. Contraindications hypersensitivity to indomethacin, other NSAIDs and to any auxiliary component of the drug; erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract in the acute stage; leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, coagulopathy; children’s age up to 14 years; pregnancy; lactation; violation of the integrity of the skin.
