Description:
Transparent colorless or slightly yellowish solution with an ethanol odor. The main active ingredient is Naftifin. Release form Solution. Special instructions – Naftifine hydrochloride solution is not intended for use in ophthalmology. – The solution should not be used on open wounds or cracks. – This medicine contains propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation. – The medicinal product is applied undiluted and not mixed with other topical medicinal products, since the effectiveness of the active substance may be insufficient due to the reduced concentration. – The drug is not phototoxic and does not cause photosensitivity. Indications for useExofort, solution for external use 10 mg/ml contains the active substance naftifine hydrochloride and is intended for external use in fungal infections. Naftifine hydrochloride is effective against dermatophytes, moderately active against yeast, mold and other fungi (eg Sporothrix schenkii). It also exhibits antibacterial activity against various microorganisms that often accompany mycoses. In clinical use, the anti-inflammatory effect of naftifine hydrochloride was noted, due to which signs of inflammation (redness, swelling, peeling) and, especially, itching quickly disappear. Exofort is used for the topical treatment of fungal infections caused by pathogens sensitive to naftifine: – fungal infections of the skin and skin folds with or without accompanying itching. – fungal nail infections. – skin candidiasis. – pityriasis versicolor. Dosage and administration Exofort is intended only for external use on the skin or nails. Use this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Dosage: For the treatment of fungal infections of the skin, use once a day. Clean the affected skin and adjacent areas, dry it, then thoroughly moisten it with the solution directly from the bottle or with a cotton swab. Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes. For the treatment of fungal infections of the nails, apply the drug twice a day, applying from the side of the free edge of the nail. Before the first application of the solution, remove the affected part of the nail as much as possible with scissors and a nail file. Children and adolescents: the safety and efficacy of Exofort in children and adolescents under 18 years of age has not been proven (experience is insufficient). Patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency: dose adjustment is not required. Elderly patients: dose adjustment is not required. Duration of use: To prevent recurrence of infection, continue treatment for at least another two weeks after clinical recovery. To recover as quickly as possible and to prevent re-infection, follow these rules: Change clothing and underwear daily that comes into contact with diseased skin. Do not wear tight, tight, airtight clothing and shoes (eg, synthetic socks, tight shoes). You should also carefully dry the diseased skin after washing. Towels should be changed daily. To prevent further spread of the infection, and especially to prevent re-infection, do not walk barefoot in your home, bathroom, hotel, swimming pool. Sauna and bath can be visited only after recovery from a fungal disease. Clean, healthy and dry skin is the best defense against fungal infections. Use during pregnancy and lactation If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor before using this medicine. As a precaution, the use of Exofort should be avoided during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Interactions with other drugs If you are taking, planning to take or have recently taken any other medicines, tell your doctor or pharmacist. Interactions with other drugs or alcohol have not been noted. Contraindications There are the following contraindications for the use of the drug: – hypersensitivity to naftifine hydrochloride, propylene glycol or other excipients of the drug. Composition 1 ml of solution contains: Active substance: naftifine hydrochloride – 10 mg; Excipients: propylene glycol, ethyl alcohol 96%, purified water. Overdose Acute overdose and the occurrence of life-threatening complications with external use of naftifine are unlikely. In case of accidental ingestion, consult a doctor. Appropriate symptomatic treatment is recommended. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Side effects Like all medicines, Exofort can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The frequency of side effects is unknown. In some cases, a feeling of dryness, burning or redness may occur. Storage conditionsKeep in a place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
