Medicine. The main active ingredient is ketoconazole. Release formShampoo. Dosage 20 mg. Special instructions When using shampoo, avoid getting it into the eyes. If the shampoo gets into your eyes, rinse them with water. To prevent withdrawal during long-term topical treatment with corticosteroids, it is recommended that topical corticosteroids be continued in combination with NIZORAL® Shampoo 2%, followed by a gradual withdrawal of corticosteroids over 2-3 weeks. If the medicinal product has become unusable or the expiration date has expired, do not pour it into wastewater and do not throw it out into the street! Pharmacological action Ketoconazole, a synthetic derivative of imidazole-dioxolane, has antifungal activity against dermatophytes such as Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton spp., Microsporum spp., and yeasts such as Candida spp. and Malassezia spp. (Pityrosporum spp.). Nizoral® Shampoo 2% quickly reduces flaking and itching that usually accompanies seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, pityriasis versicolor. Pharmacokinetics Ketoconazole concentrations are not detected in plasma after topical application of Nizoral® Shampoo 2% to the scalp, but are determined after topical application of shampoo to the whole body at a concentration of 11.2 ng / ml – 33.3 ng / ml. It is unlikely that such concentrations can cause any drug interactions, but an increase in allergic reactions is possible. Pharmacological group Antifungal agents. Dosage and administration Adolescents from 12 years of age and adults. Apply NIZORAL® Shampoo 2% on the affected areas of the skin for 3-5 minutes, then rinse with water. Treatment: pityriasis versicolor: once a day for 5 days;/li> seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff: twice a week for 2-4 weeks./li> Prevention: pityriasis versicolor: once a day for 3 days ( a single course of treatment before the onset of summer)./li> seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff: weekly or once every two weeks. There is no information on the presence of any adverse effects in children. The safety and efficacy of Nizoral Shampoo 2% in children under 12 years of age have not been established.
