Name:
Xylin spray naz.1mg/1ml in vial 10ml in pack No. 1
Description:
Transparent or slightly opalescent, colorless or yellowish solution. The main active substance Xylometazoline Release form Spray Dosage 10 ml Pharmacological action Xylometazoline is a non-selective alpha-adrenergic agonist. At low concentrations, it acts on a2-adrenergic receptors, at high concentrations it acts on al-adrenergic receptors. It has a direct effect on the nasal mucosa and is used topically in ENT practice to reduce blood vessels, reduce inflammation and exudation. Reduces or eliminates hyperemia and swelling of the nasal mucosa and facilitates nasal breathing in rhinitis. The effect of the drug occurs within a few minutes after application and lasts up to 10 hours. It is well tolerated even by patients with sensitive mucous membranes and does not impair the function of the ciliated epithelium. Pharmacokinetics When applied topically, the drug is practically not absorbed, so its plasma concentration is very low and cannot be determined by modern analytical methods. Indications for use Used for acute respiratory diseases with symptoms of rhinitis (runny nose); acute allergic rhinitis, sinusitis; with otitis media (as part of combination therapy to reduce swelling of the nasopharyngeal mucosa); to facilitate rhinoscopy and other manipulations in the nasopharynx. on the nasal nozzle until a dispersion jet appears, then inject into each nostril and press on the atomizer, during the injection, draw air into the nose). Adults and children over 12 years old – 1 injection of 1 mg / 1 ml solution in each nasal passage 2-4 times a day. Children from 2 to 12 years old – 1 injection of 0.5 mg / 1 ml of solution into each nasal passage 1-3 times a day. The duration of the drug use is no more than 5 days. Use during pregnancy and lactation Given the presence of vasoconstrictor properties in xylometazoline, the use of the drug Xilin during pregnancy and lactation should be avoided for reasons of precaution. However, if the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child, the use of the drug is acceptable without exceeding the recommended therapeutic doses. Interaction with other drugs When using Xylin spray at recommended doses, systemic effects are practically not observed. However, with the simultaneous use of tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants, maprotiline, other adrenomimetics or monoamine oxidase inhibitors, the manifestations of the systemic effects of xylometazoline may increase, especially in cases of its overdose. Adrenoblockers and calcium antagonists weaken the effect of xylometazoline. Contraindications: hypersensitivity to xylometazoline and other components of the drug; arterial hypertension, tachycardia, severe atherosclerosis; pheochromocytoma; angle-closure glaucoma; atrophic rhinitis; diabetes mellitus; hyperthyroidism; surgical interventions on the meninges (in history); 14 days after the end of their use; children under 2 years of age. Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, functional class III-IV angina or prostatic hyperplasia, as well as with increased sensitivity to adrenergic drugs, accompanied by symptoms of insomnia, dizziness, cardiac arrhythmia, tremor, high blood pressure. Composition I ml of solution contains 0.5 mg or 1 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride as an active substance. Excipients: benzyl alcohol, benzalkonium chloride, disodium phosphate 12-water, sodium dihydrophosphate dihydrate, sodium chloride, non-crystallizing sorbitol solution, concentrated hydrochloric acid, purified water. Overdose No cases of drug overdose in adults have been reported. In rare cases, in case of accidental ingestion of the drug into the oral cavity (more often in children), the clinical picture is dominated by symptoms such as increased heart rate and arrhythmia, increased blood pressure and sometimes confusion. If these symptoms appear, you should consult a doctor. Side effects Local reactions: with frequent and / or prolonged use – irritation and / or dryness of the mucous membrane of the nasopharynx, burning, tingling, sneezing, hypersecretion, reduced therapeutic effect – “ricochet” swelling of the nasal mucosa (increased discharge from the nose and the appearance of a feeling of “congestion”) due to reactive hyperemia). Systemic reactions: irregular or rapid heartbeat, blurred vision, nervousness, headache, insomnia, increased blood pressure, vomiting, depression (with prolonged use in high doses). Storage conditionsStore in a place protected from light at a temperature of +15°С to +25°С. Keep out of the reach of children.
