Description:
Cream of white or almost white color with a slight smell of almonds, easily washed off with water. Dosage 15 g Pharmacological properties Terbizil is an antifungal drug of the allylamine group with a wide spectrum of fungicidal action. Terbinafine inhibits the biosynthesis of sterols in the fungal membrane by inhibiting squalene epoxidase, which leads to intracellular accumulation of squalene and, as a result, to the death of the fungal cell. Terbinafine does not affect the cytochrome P450 enzyme system and the metabolism of hormones and other drugs dependent on the cytochrome P450 system. At low concentrations, terbinafine has fungicidal activity against dermatophytes, molds and some dimorphic fungi. The action on yeast fungi, for example of the genus Candida, may be fungicidal or fungistatic, depending on the strain of the fungus. Fungal infections can occur in the following areas of the body: Fungal infections of the feet (athlete’s foot) usually occur between the toes. They may extend to the sole, rib, and instep of the foot. The infection can affect one or both feet. The most common symptoms include inflammation, the formation of cracks and scales on the skin, and unpleasant itching. In more severe cases, small moist blisters form on the skin, deep painful cracks and skin peeling occurs; fungal infections of the nails (the fungus grows on or under the nail plate): the nail thickens and its color changes; fungal infections of the skin can occur in the folds of the body. These include inguinal folds, skin folds under the mammary glands and axillary pits, as well as the inner thighs, buttocks. A fungal infection is a moist patch of inflammation that is bright red in color with clear boundaries with peeling along the edges, spreading within the affected area. In some cases, skin peeling occurs in the depth of the fold and weeping erosions and painful cracks can form; superficial fungal infection of the skin can occur anywhere on the surface of the body. As the fungus grows, it spreads around the circumference with a patch of normal skin in the center. The fungus is shaped like a ring. Along the edges of the ring, the skin is raised and irritated, it is red and scaly; another form of superficial fungal infection (versus versicolor) is characterized by the appearance of brownish scaly (pityriasis) spots on the skin of the body, which turn white when exposed to sunlight. It is common in people who sweat excessively or work in hot, humid environments. When applied topically, <5% of the dose is absorbed, so the systemic effect is negligible. When Terbizil cream is used for 7 days, the concentration in the stratum corneum above the fungicidal level remains for 7 days after stopping the use of the drug. Indications for use Terbizil cream is a local antifungal drug. Terbizil cream is used for topical treatment of a fungal infection of the skin. For external use only. A fungal infection can affect the following areas of the body: The skin of the feet (athlete's foot). It is manifested mainly by lesions of the interdigital spaces of the skin, it can spread to the sole, edge and / or to the instep of the foot. The most common symptoms are inflammation, cracking or peeling of the skin, and unpleasant itching. In more severe cases, weeping blisters, flaking of the skin, or painful, deep cracks may appear. Fungal infection of the nails (fungi sprouts the nail or grows under the nail plate): the nail thickens and changes in color. If you notice such symptoms, be sure to contact your doctor, because Terbizil cream is used to treat such infections only in combination with Terbizil 250mg tablets. Fungi can infect the skin of body folds such as the groin, inner thighs, buttocks, underbust folds, and armpits. With these localizations of skin lesions by a fungal infection, the disease manifests itself in the form of redness, a clearly defined wet inflammation, with peeling along the edges and expansion of the affected area. Sometimes in the depth of the folds, the skin can exfoliate, weeping erosions and painful cracks can also form. A superficial fungal infection of the skin can develop on any area of the body. As the fungus grows, it spreads in a circular pattern, leaving normal-looking skin in the center. It looks like a ring. Along the edges of the irritation and looks red and scaly. Another form of superficial fungal infection is the appearance of scaly brown spots on the skin of the trunk, which turn white when exposed to sunlight. These spots can be very numerous in people who are prone to sweating or who work in hot and humid places. If you are not sure about the origin of existing skin lesions, you should consult your doctor before using Terbizil cream. Method of application and doses Pierce the sealed tube with the help of a spike on the tip of the cap Always wash and dry the skin before using the cream. The cream should be applied once or twice a day to a previously washed and dried skin area. The cream should be applied to the affected skin and the surrounding area in a thin layer and rubbed in lightly. To speed up healing in case of infection between the fingers, the treated area can be covered with gauze, especially at night (push the affected areas of the skin apart). Duration of treatment depending on the type of infection: Fungal infection of the feet: 1 week / once or twice a day Fungal infection of the body folds: 1 week / once or twice a day Superficial skin lesions: 1 week / once or twice a day Pityriasis versicolor : 2 weeks / once or twice a day Treatment should be continued for one week, and in the case of pityriasis versicolor, up to 2 weeks, even if the affected area has healed earlier. In this case, it will be possible to avoid a recurrence of the infection, and the treatment will be successful. The cream quickly stops the development of the infectious process due to the impact on pathogenic fungi, causing their death. However, complete healing may take longer depending on the nature of the fungal infection. For example, in the case of pityriasis versicolor, it may take four weeks for the white spots to disappear. The effect of Terbizil cream persists after application, even if you have finished using the drug. If after two weeks of using the drug there is no improvement, consult your doctor. To avoid re-infection, the following hygiene rules should be followed: The affected area should be kept clean; always wash your hands after using the cream; use your personal towel; underwear should be changed frequently; cotton socks should be worn and shoes should be disinfected. Don't scratch the affected area despite itching, as this can cause further damage to the skin and slow down the healing process, or spread an infection. If you miss one application and remember it by the time of the next application, do not use a double dose. If you stop using Terbizil cream, treatment should be continued for one week, and in case of pityriasis versicolor - 2 weeks, even if the affected area has healed earlier.
