Pharmacological properties are due to the ability to damage the cell membranes of fungi by inhibiting cytochrome P450-dependent 14?-demethylase, which catalyzes the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol, the main structural component of the fungal membrane. Pharmacokinetics Since the shampoo is absorbed through the skin in small quantities (also after prolonged use), a systemic effect is unlikely.
