Interaction with other drugs The systemic effect of xylometazoline may be enhanced when used simultaneously with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and tri- or tetracyclic antidepressants, especially in case of an overdose of xylometazoline. The composition of the solution contains: active substance: xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.50 mg; excipients: sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium phosphate dihydrate, disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, sorbitol, sodium chloride, hypromellose, purified water. Overdose Excessive use of xylometazoline or accidental ingestion may cause the following symptoms: severe dizziness, perspiration, severe decrease in body temperature, headache, bradycardia, hypertension, respiratory depression, coma and convulsions. Hypotension may be followed by hypertension. Young children are more sensitive to toxic effects than adults. Symptomatic treatment under medical supervision is required.
