Pharmacological properties SeptaNazal® for children is a nasal spray containing the active substances xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexpanthenol. Xylometazoline hydrochloride has a vasoconstrictive effect, thus eliminating swelling of the nasal mucosa. Dexpanthenol – a vitamin of group B, a derivative of pantothenic acid, has a protective effect and promotes the healing of mucosal lesions. Indications for use The drug is recommended: to reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa in acute respiratory diseases with symptoms of rhinitis (runny nose) and as a supportive treatment for the healing of damage to the nasal mucosa, to alleviate the condition with vasomotor rhinitis, to restore nasal breathing after surgery in the nasal cavity . The drug is recommended for children from 2 years. Method of application and dosage Intranasally. Children from 2 to 6 years old – one injection of SeptaNazal® for children in each nasal passage up to 3 times a day. For children over 6 years old, SeptaNazal® nasal spray for adults is recommended, containing a higher dose of the active substance. Dosing depends on individual sensitivity and clinical efficacy. Do not use the drug for more than 7 days. A second course is possible after a break of several days. How to use Remove the protective cap from the sprayer. Before the first use, and also if the spray has not been used for a long period of time, press the sprayer several times until the optimum flow appears. The upper part (tip) of the nebulizer should be inserted as vertically as possible into the nasal passage and the nebulizer should be pressed once. At the time of injection, the patient should take a light breath through the nose. If necessary, the procedure should be repeated with another nasal passage. After each use, the spray tip should be wiped with a paper towel and capped. Long-term use of high doses of the drug can lead to chronic edema and subsequent atrophy of the nasal mucosa. In case of increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma), especially angle-closure glaucoma, you should consult your doctor before use. Ingestion with food and drink The drug can be taken with or without food. In case of missing the next dose of the drug Do not take a double dose in order to make up for the missed one.
