Description:
Light brown to reddish brown liquid. During storage, sedimentation and turbidity are allowed. The main active ingredient of 1 g of the solution contains a liquid extract from the roots of pelargonium (Pelargonium sidoides DC) (extractors: ethanol 40% (v / v), ethanol 10% (v / v)) (1: 8-10) – 800 mg. Release form Drops 20 ml. Dosage Drops 20 ml in a vial closed with a stopper-dropper and screw-on cap with control of the first opening. Pharmacodynamics The drug Resistilor contains an extract from the roots of Pelargonium sidoides (Pelargonium sidoides). Oral use of the extract is known to reduce signs of disease (non-specific disease symptoms that occur due to infection) and exhibit antioxidant properties. Pharmacokinetics Resistilor is a complex mixture of many components. The entire extract is considered to be the active substance. Pharmacokinetic data on individual components are not available. Indications for use Symptomatic treatment of acute respiratory infections. The use of a herbal preparation from the roots of pelargonium to relieve the symptoms of the “cold” is based on many years of experience. Dosage and administration Adults and children over 12 years old: 30 drops 3 times a day. Children aged 6 to 12 years: 20 drops 3 times a day. The drug is recommended under medical supervision. 1 ml of solution contains 20 drops. The solution should be taken with a small amount of water in the morning, afternoon and evening. Hold the bottle vertically, if necessary, lightly tap on its bottom. After the symptoms of the disease have subsided, it is recommended to continue treatment with Resistilor for several more days to prevent relapse. The average duration of treatment should not exceed 3 weeks. Duration of use: If symptoms persist for more than 1 week, a doctor’s consultation is necessary to review the therapy. Use during pregnancy and lactation It is not recommended to take the drug during pregnancy and lactation, due to insufficient data on safety during pregnancy and lactation. Precautions The use of the drug in children under 6 years of age is not recommended due to the lack of clinical data. The use of a herbal preparation from the roots of pelargonium for the relief of the symptoms of a “cold” is based solely on many years of experience in use. Cases of hepatotoxicity and hepatitis associated with the use of the drug have been reported. If signs of hepatotoxicity appear, stop taking the drug immediately and consult a doctor. The patient should consult a doctor if his condition does not improve within one week, if he has symptoms of impaired liver function, such as yellowing of the skin, whites of the eyes, in case of fever lasting for several days, shortness of breath or bloody sputum. This medicinal product contains from 7.2% to 10.4% ethanol, that is, 1.25 ml of Resistilor (25 drops) may contain from 92.52 mg to 133.64 mg of ethanol. Harmful for persons suffering from alcohol dependence. Pregnant and lactating women, children and high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease and epilepsy should be considered for the presence of ethanol in the preparation. Interaction with other drugs There are no reports of interaction. Due to the possible effect of Resistilor on blood coagulation parameters, it is possible that, when used simultaneously with coumarin derivatives or other drugs that prevent blood coagulation, their anticoagulant effect may be enhanced. No interactions of Resistilor with penicillin V have been identified. The presence of alcohol in this drug may interfere with the effects of other drugs. Contraindications – Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients – Increased tendency to bleeding and the use of anticoagulants – Severe liver and kidney disease, as there is no relevant sufficient experience of use – Children under 6 years old Composition Active ingredient: 1 g of solution contains liquid extract from the roots of pelargonium (Pelargonium sidoides DC) (extractants: ethanol 40% (v / v), ethanol 10% (v / v)) (1: 8-10) – 800 mg; excipient: glycerin 85% (m/m). Overdose There are no data on cases of overdose. In case of an overdose, side effects may increase. Side effects According to the frequency of occurrence of adverse reactions when using Resistilor, they are classified as follows: Very often (> 1/10) Often (> 1/100 – <1/10) Infrequently (> 1/1 000 – <1/100) Rarely (> 1 /10,000 – <1/1,000) Very rare (<1/10,000) Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data) Gastrointestinal disorders: - Uncommon: gastrointestinal disorders such as stomach pain, heartburn, nausea or diarrhea - Rare: Mild gum bleeding Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: - Rare: Mild epistaxis Skin and subcutaneous/immune system disorders: - Rare: Hypersensitivity reactions Hepatobiliary disorders: - Very rare: Liver dysfunction of various origins (eg, with symptoms of inflammation or hepatotoxic reaction) When taking the drug, a decrease in platelet levels was observed (frequency unknown).
