The main active ingredient Paracetamol + pheniramine + ascorbic acid Release form Powder Indications for use Symptomatic treatment of colds, flu-like conditions in adults, accompanied by: headache and / or fever; sneezing clear discharge from the nose and lacrimation. Dosage and administration Before use, the contents of the package are dissolved in 100 ml of freshly boiled and cooled drinking water. Ready solution is used inside. The drug is prescribed for adults 1 sachet 2-3 times a day. An interval of at least four hours should be observed between doses. In case of renal insufficiency, the time interval between doses of the drug should be at least 8 hours. The duration of the drug use is not more than 5 days. Use during pregnancy and lactation The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation for self-administration, consultation with a doctor is necessary. Precautions Do not exceed the recommended dose or take the drug for more than 5 days in a row. A doctor should be consulted if symptoms: do not improve within 5 days; accompanied by a fever that lasts more than 3 days; include a sore throat that does not go away for more than 3 days, accompanied by fever, headache, rash, nausea or vomiting. Caution should be exercised when prescribing the drug to patients with kidney pathology and patients with hepatic insufficiency, due to the fact that this drug contains paracetamol and pheniramine, which increase the risk of paracetamol-related liver damage. The use of alcoholic beverages or sedatives (particularly barbiturates) increases the sedative effect of antihistamines, so they should be avoided during treatment Each packet contains sugar (about 2.0 g), which should be taken into account in the total amount of sucrose consumed per day in patients diabetes and on a low-sugar diet. For adults weighing more than 50 kg, the total dose of paracetamol should not exceed 4 g per day. The composition of the drug includes aspartame, which is a source of phenylalanine and is contraindicated in patients with phenylketonuria. The presence of tartrazine in the preparation may cause an allergic reaction. Influence on the ability to drive a car and work with mechanisms During treatment, it is not recommended to drive vehicles and work with complex mechanisms that require increased concentration and high speed of psychomotor reactions. Due to its anticholinergic properties, pheniramine can cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision and psychomotor impairment in some patients, which can seriously affect the ability to drive and use machines. With the simultaneous use of sedatives, tranquilizers or alcohol, drowsiness may increase. Interaction with other drugs Undesirable combinations Alcohol enhances the sedative effect of the H1-histamine receptor blocker. The weakening of attention can be dangerous when driving vehicles and working with mechanisms. Avoid taking alcoholic beverages and medicines containing alcohol. Combinations to be considered Morphine derivatives (painkillers, antitussives and substitution drugs), antipsychotics, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, anxiolytics other than benzodiazepines (eg meprobamate), hypnotics, sedatives, antidepressants (amitriptyline, doxepin, mianzerin, mirtazapine, trimipramine ), H1-receptor blockers with a sedative effect, centrally acting antihypertensive drugs, baclofen and thalidomide have a depressant effect on the central nervous system. Atropine-acting drugs (imipramine antidepressants, atropine-like H1-receptor blockers, anticholinergic antiparkinsonian drugs, antispasmodic atropines, disopyramide, phenothiazine antipsychotics and clozapine) increase the risk of side effects such as urinary retention, constipation and dry mouth. Contraindications hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; severe violations of the liver and / or kidneys; glaucoma; urinary retention associated with dysfunction of the prostate gland; alcoholism; phenylketonuria; gastric and duodenal ulcer in the acute stage; severe forms of diabetes; fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrose-isomaltose deficiency due to the presence of sugar in the preparation; childhood; pregnancy, lactation. Composition 3.0 g of powder contains as active ingredients 325 mg of paracetamol, 25 mg of pheniramine maleate, 220 mg of ascorbic acid. Excipients: anhydrous citric acid, aspartame E 951, tartrazine E 102, lemon oil, white crystalline sugar. Overdose Paracetamol related: There is a risk of liver damage in adults who have taken 10 g or more of paracetamol. Taking 5 g or more of paracetamol can lead to liver damage if the patient has the following risk factors: is on long-term treatment with carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, primidonum, rifampicin, St. John’s wort and other drugs that induce liver enzymes; regularly consumes ethanol in excess of the recommended amounts; malnourished (HIV infection, cystic fibrosis, starvation). Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, usually manifested in the first day. Liver damage may appear 12 to 48 hours after ingestion. In severe poisoning, liver failure can progress to encephalopathy, bleeding, hypoglycemia, cerebral edema, and death. Acute renal failure with acute necrosis, low back pain, hematuria, and proteinuria may develop even in the absence of severe liver damage. Treatment: if symptoms of poisoning appear, consult a doctor immediately. A blood test is recommended to determine the level of paracetamol in plasma, gastric lavage, the introduction of an antidote of N-acetylcytein (in / in or orally) within 24 hours after taking paracetamol, symptomatic treatment. Due to pheniramine: Overdose can cause convulsions, impaired consciousness, behavioral changes, dystonic reactions, cardiovascular insufficiency, bradycardia, drowsiness, visual disturbances, depression, atropine-like “psychosis”. Due to ascorbic acid: An overdose of ascorbic acid can manifest itself in oxidative hemolysis in patients with deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and a significant increase in the level of oxalates in the blood and urine. Ascorbic acid can provoke calcium oxalate deposition in patients with a predisposition to calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis, tubulointerstitial nephropathy, and acute renal failure as a result of calcium oxalate crystallization. Side effectsAssociated with paracetamol The frequency of these reactions is not defined, but usually they occur rarely: thrombocytopenia; anaphylaxis; skin hypersensitivity reactions, including skin rash, Quincke’s edema and Steven-Johnson syndrome; bronchospasm in patients sensitive to aspirin and other NSAIDs; liver dysfunction. Associated with pheniramine Neurovegetative effects: sedation or drowsiness, especially at the beginning of treatment; dry mucous membranes, constipation, disturbances of accommodation, mydriasis, palpitations, risk of urinary retention; orthostatic hypotension; balance disorders, vertigo, memory or concentration impairment, which is common in older people; incoordination, trembling; confusion, hallucinations; in more rare cases – effects by type of excitation: agitation, nervousness, insomnia. Hypersensitivity reactions (rare): erythrema, itching, eczema, urticaria; edema, less often – Quincke’s edema; anaphylactic shock. Hematological effects: leukocytopenia, neutropenia; thrombocytopenia; hemolytic anemia. Storage conditions Store in a place protected from moisture at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of the reach of children.
