Menthol, when applied topically, has a distracting effect and causes flushing of the skin. It helps to reduce pain in muscles, tendons and joints. Menthol acts on the nerve endings in the skin. The bioavailability of ibuprofen in the form of a gel for external use is about 5% compared with oral administration. The systemic concentration of ibuprofen reaches a maximum of about 0.6 μg / ml two hours after the use of the drug. Levomenthol, which is absorbed through the skin, enters the liver. Metabolism of levomenthol occurs in the liver by hydroxylation and then conjugation with glucuronide. Excretion of metabolic products of levomenthol is carried out by the kidneys. Indications for use Local symptomatic treatment of muscle and joint pain, swelling in light traumatic injuries: sprains, bruises, sports injuries. It is used in the complex treatment of pain in rheumatism. Dosage and administration Externally. For adults. If longer use is needed, consult your doctor. Always wash your hands after using Deep Relief unless they are being treated. Use during pregnancy and lactation The safety of ibuprofen during pregnancy has not been sufficiently studied. Animal studies with oral ibuprofen showed no teratogenic effects. When sufficient systemic concentrations of ibuprofen were reached, untimely closure of the ductus arteriosus (ductus arteriosus), an increased risk of postpartum hemorrhage in the mother and newborn, and edema in the pregnant woman were observed. The use of Deep Relief is contraindicated during pregnancy. Ibuprofen and its metabolites are excreted in breast milk. The use of Deep Relief is contraindicated during breastfeeding.
