Ascorbic acid increases the blood concentration of benzylpenicillin and tetracyclines, increases the risk of developing crystalluria in the treatment of short-acting salicylates and sulfonamides, and reduces the blood concentration of oral contraceptives. Chlorhexidine is not compatible with detergents containing an anionic group (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose). Simultaneous use with iodine is not recommended. With caution: Diabetes mellitus, deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia, thalassemia, hyperoxaluria, oxalosis and nephrolithiasis. Composition One tablet contains: active substances: chlorhexidine diacetate – 2 mg, tetracaine hydrochloride – 0.2 mg, ascorbic acid – 50 mg; excipients: menthol, sodium saccharinate, talc, calcium stearate, orange flavor additive (maltodextrin, natural rubber, gum arabic (E414), natural orange oil, water), tartrazine (E 102), sorbitol. Overdose Symptoms: dizziness, general weakness, cyanosis, agitation, anxiety, muscle tremor, respiratory failure, nausea, vomiting. Treatment: gastric lavage, saline laxatives, symptomatic therapy. Chlorhexidine and tetracaine are practically not absorbed when taken orally, overdose symptoms include diarrhea, nausea, irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa, flatulence, spastic abdominal pain, frequent urination, nephrolithiasis, insomnia, irritability, hypoglycemia. Isolated cases of acute and chronic overdose of ascorbic acid in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency have been described. An overdose of ascorbic acid can lead to a significant increase in the level of oxalate in the blood serum and urine. An increase in blood oxalate levels in patients on hemodialysis can lead to the deposition of calcium oxalate deposits. In addition, there are anecdotal reports that the administration of high doses of ascorbic acid (orally or intravenously) leads to the deposition of calcium oxalate crystals, and oxalate crystalluria, tubulointerstitial nephropathy and acute renal failure. Side effects Rarely, allergic reactions occur (nasal congestion, skin rash, peeling of the oral mucosa and swelling of the parotid glands); taste change; increase in plaque; discoloration (brown spots) on teeth, fillings and dentures; irritation or inflammation of the oral mucosa; irritation of the gastric mucosa and diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, belching.
