The main active ingredient Ampicillin Release form Tablets Dosage 250vu Indications for use The drug AMPICILLIN TRIHYDRATE contains ampicillin, which belongs to the antibiotics of the penicillin series. Ampicillin works by destroying bacteria that cause infections such as: ENT infections; bronchitis, pneumonia; gynecological infections; urinary tract infections; sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea; skin and soft tissue infections; infections of the gastrointestinal tract; typhoid fever in the acute period and with bacteriocarrier; septicemia (a type of blood poisoning); peritonitis (local or diffuse inflammation of the serous covering of the peritoneum); endocarditis (inflammation of the inner lining of the heart); meningitis (inflammation of the lining of the brain and spinal cord). Dosage and Administration Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. The dose of the drug and the duration of therapy will be determined by the doctor depending on your condition. Contact your healthcare provider if you are unsure about anything. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water, half an hour to an hour before meals. Dosing regimen The usual daily dose for adults and children over 6 years of age: 2 to 6 g of ampicillin. Dosing frequency: 3 times a day (after 8 hours) or 4 times a day (after 6 hours).
