Description:
Uniform white ointment. The main active ingredient Acyclovir Release form Ointment Dosage 50 mg / g Pharmacological action Acyclovir is active against herpes simplex virus type 1 and 2, shingles virus (Varicella zoster). Less sensitive to the action of acyclovir cytomegalovirus. The drug reduces itching, swelling, redness of the skin and mucous membranes, prevents the formation of new elements of the rash, reduces the likelihood of skin dissemination and visceral complications of herpetic infections, and accelerates the formation of crusts. Helps reduce pain in the acute phase of herpes zoster. Indications for use Acyclovir ointment 50 mg/g is used for skin infections caused by the herpes simplex virus, including primary and recurrent genital herpes and herpes on the lips. Method of application and doses Method of application: topical use. Adults and children: Acyclovir 50 mg/g ointment should be applied five times a day at approximately four-hour intervals, except at night. Acyclovir ointment should be applied to the affected area or at risk of injury as soon as possible, preferably at an early stage (prodrome or erythema). Treatment can also be started at later stages (papules or vesicles). Treatment should be continued for 4 days for herpes on the lips and for 5 days for genital herpes.
