Description:
Tablets are oval, biconvex, from white to cream color, with a risk for dividing on one side, 17 mm long, 7 mm wide. The main active ingredient Inosine pranobex Release form Tablets Dosage 500 mg Indications for use – Treatment of herpes of the lips and skin of the face caused by the herpes simplex virus (Herpes Simplex). – Complex therapy in patients with a weakened immune system, with recurrent infections of the upper respiratory tract. Dosage and administration Always take the drug strictly in accordance with the doctor’s recommendations. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist. The drug is taken orally, preferably after meals, at regular intervals 3-4 times a day. The tablet can be chewed, crushed and/or dissolved in a small amount of water immediately before use (to avoid aspiration in children under 6 years of age). The duration of treatment is determined individually, depending on the nosology, the severity of the process and the frequency of relapses. On average, the duration of treatment is 5-14 days. The drug should be continued for another 1-2 days after the symptoms have subsided. The usual daily dose is 6 tablets (3 g) per day (eg 2 tablets 3 times per day). The maximum daily dose is 4 g per day (8 tablets per day). If necessary, after a 7-10-day break, the course of treatment can be repeated. Recommended doses and regimens for the use of the drug: – herpes of the lips and face skin caused by the herpes simplex virus (Herpes Simplex): adults – 2 tablets 3-4 times a day (6-8 tablets per day), children – a daily dose of 50 mg / kg for 3-4 doses for 10-14 days; – patients with weakened immunity (in complex therapy): adults – 2 tablets 3-4 times a day, the course of treatment is from 2 weeks to 3 months; children – a daily dose of 50 mg / kg in 3-4 doses for 21 days (or 3 courses of 7-10 days at the same intervals). Children Used in children older than 1 year. The tablet should be crushed and dissolved in a small amount of water for children under 6 years of age and for those patients who cannot swallow the tablet. Elderly patients There is no need to change the dose, the drug is used as in middle-aged adult patients. If you have taken more Groprinosin tablets than you should have To date, no cases of overdose have been reported. If you are not sure, contact your doctor immediately. If you forget to take Groprinosin If you miss the next dose of the drug, take the required dose as soon as you remember about it, unless it is time for the next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you stop taking Groprinosin If you stop taking Groprinosin, you may not achieve the expected therapeutic effect of the drug, or the symptoms of the disease may worsen. If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Use during pregnancy and lactation If you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding, or think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine. Do not take Groprinosin if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless your doctor tells you to take this drug. Your doctor will evaluate whether the benefits of taking the drug outweigh the possible risks. Precautions: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Groprinosin. – If you have had episodes of gout or increased levels of uric acid in your blood or urine in the past. Groprinosin can cause a temporary increase in the concentration of uric acid in the blood and urine. – If you have had kidney stones in the past. – If you currently have kidney disease. In this case, the doctor will have to monitor your condition more closely. – If therapy is continued for a long time (three months or longer). Your doctor will order regular blood tests and monitor your kidney and liver function. With prolonged treatment, kidney stones may form. – If you have symptoms of an allergic reaction such as rash, itching, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue. If you experience these symptoms, you should immediately stop taking the drug and tell your doctor about it. Interactions with other drugs Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or may take any other medicines. Be sure to tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines: – medicines to treat gout (allopurinol and others); – drugs that increase the excretion of uric acid, including diuretics (increased urine production), for example, furosemide, torasemide, ethacrynic acid, hydrochlorothiazide, chlorthalidone, indapamide; – medicines that suppress the immune system (so-called immunosuppressants used after organ transplant surgery or in the treatment of atopic dermatitis); – azidothymidine (AZT, a drug used to treat HIV infection). Composition Each tablet contains: Active ingredient: inosine pranobex (methisoprinol, inosine dimepranol acetoben) – 500 mg. Excipients: potato starch, povidone, magnesium stearate.
