Walnut Leaves: 50g (Pack of 2) – Natural Remedy for Skin & Wellbeing
Walnut leaves have been used for centuries in traditional medicine for their numerous health benefits. These leaves are packed with a potent blend of natural compounds, including: carotene, aldehydes, essential oils, alkaloids, vitamins C and PP, phenolic acids, tannins, coumarins, flavonoids, anthocyanins, quinones, and aromatic hydrocarbons. This rich composition contributes to their wide range of therapeutic applications.
Uses and Benefits:
- Wound Healing: Both internally and externally, walnut leaf preparations promote rapid wound healing. Chewed walnut kernels can even be applied directly as a poultice to boils or abscesses.
- Digestive Health: Traditionally used to treat digestive disorders, including diarrhea, by reducing inflammation and promoting gut health.
- Metabolic Support: Helps regulate blood sugar levels and improve metabolism, making it potentially beneficial for individuals with diabetes or metabolic disorders.
- Skin Conditions: Effective in treating various skin conditions, including eczema and inflammatory skin problems. Bath treatments are particularly beneficial for children with skin conditions (diatez) and lymphatic inflammation.
- Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Reduces inflammation throughout the body, making it potentially useful for conditions like arthritis.
- Antioxidant Powerhouse: The high concentration of antioxidants protects cells from damage caused by free radicals.
Preparation Methods:
- Infusion (Tea): 1-2 tablespoons of dried leaves steeped in one cup of boiling water for 15-20 minutes. Drink ½ cup 3-4 times daily as a general tonic. This infusion can also be used as a mouthwash.
- Decoction: 4-5 tablespoons of dried leaves simmered in 0.5 liters of water for 15 minutes. This decoction is ideal for compresses and applications to affected skin areas.
- Bath: For a full bath, use 2kg of fresh leaves or 0.5kg of dried leaves. A course of 10-15 baths is recommended.
Specific Applications:
- Goiter: Steep 1 tablespoon of walnut partitions in 0.5 liters of boiling water, wrap, and let cool completely. Store in the refrigerator and consume 1 tablespoon daily before meals.
- Diabetes: A decoction of walnut partitions can be beneficial: simmer 40g of crushed partitions in 0.5 liters of water for one hour on low heat. Consume 15ml three times daily before meals. Alternatively, prepare a 1:10 tincture with vodka, let it steep for 7-10 days, and take 25-30 drops 3-4 times a day in courses with breaks.
Important Note: While walnut leaves have a long history of traditional use, it’s crucial to consult a healthcare professional before using them, especially if you have pre-existing medical conditions or are taking other medications.
