Varolast Plus Zinc Oxide Compression Bandage: 10cm x 10m (3 Pack)
Product Description:
Varolast Plus is a ready-to-use, longitudinally elastic compression bandage impregnated with a zinc oxide paste. The carrier layer consists of viscose and polyamide, while the paste contains zinc oxide, glycerin, and gelatin. Zinc oxide is included for technological reasons to achieve the semi-rigid consistency of the bandage; it is not intended to provide additional pharmacological effects. The bandage is white and is a single-use, non-sterile device available in various widths and lengths.
Indications:
Varolast Plus provides semi-rigid support and acts as a compression dressing. It’s suitable for long-term compression therapy in managing:
- Chronic venous diseases
- Thromboembolic venous diseases
- Edema
This zinc oxide bandage should only be used with an ankle-brachial pressure index (ABPI) between 0.8 and 1.3. It is intended for use on intact skin only by healthcare professionals on individuals (excluding children under 3 years old) in clinical and home settings. The semi-rigid, inelastic bandage creates high working pressure and low resting pressure, improving venous hemodynamics in the lower extremities by enhancing the propulsive capacity of the calf muscle pump. This aids in edema regression and improves reparative processes in leg trophic ulcers. Its ease of application makes it suitable for both experienced and less experienced users. The bandage’s bi-directional elasticity allows for precise application without cutting, even on difficult anatomical areas, ensuring consistent pressure distribution. It is non-irritating and dries quickly. Varolast provides a semi-rigid, immobile, long-lasting dressing effective in the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic venous insufficiency.
Composition:
69% viscose, 31% zinc oxide paste (packaged in aluminum foil).
Bandage Change Frequency:
Frequency varies based on indication and severity:
- Acute cases: 2-3 times per week.
- Chronic venous diseases or moderate edema: Regularly.
- Loosening of the bandage due to reduced edema: Immediately.
Therapeutic Indications:
