NovoPen Echo Insulin Pen: 0.5 Unit Increments, Memory Function
Description:
The NovoPen Echo insulin pen from Novo Nordisk is the only pen in Russia with a memory function. This innovative device displays the last administered insulin dose and the time elapsed since injection. Ideal for managing type 1 diabetes, particularly in children, the NovoPen Echo allows precise insulin delivery from 0.5 to 30 units in 0.5-unit increments.
This insulin injector is designed for use with Novo Nordisk Penfill 3ml cartridges containing U100 insulin (NovoMix, NovoRapid, Fiasp, Protaphane, Levemir, Actrapid, Mixtard). It’s compatible with all universal insulin pen needles, but 4mm 32G needles are recommended.
Key Features and Benefits:
- Precise Dosing: Delivers insulin doses from 0.5 to 30 units in 0.5-unit increments.
- Memory Function: Displays the last administered dose and the time since the last injection (in hours). This crucial feature enhances monitoring and tracking of insulin administration.
- User-Friendly Design: Large, clear dose setting numbers ensure accurate dosing. A distinct click confirms complete insulin delivery. The injection button requires minimal force. The dose can be adjusted by reversing the dose selector. The pen prevents dosing exceeding the remaining insulin in the cartridge.
- Durable Construction: Features a robust metallic body and a stylish design. Available in red.
Memory Function Usage:
Ensure the dose indicator shows “0,” then pull the injection button. Press the button to access the memory function. A test display will appear, followed by the last injection information. The memory display will turn off after 10 seconds.
Operation and Care:
Handle the NovoPen Echo with care; avoid dropping, exposure to direct sunlight, water, and dust. Dispose of used needles appropriately and replace the pen cap after each use. The integrated battery lasts 4-5 years. Afterward, you can use the pen without the memory function or dispose of it and purchase a new one.
