The T.1590 XL hyperextension orthopedic brace provides superior support and stabilization for the thoracolumbar spine. Its modular frame design allows for a customized fit, ensuring optimal comfort and effectiveness. The adjustable upper panel provides width customization, while height-adjustable side panels allow for precise positioning. The rear panel secures the brace in the frontal plane, and a movable lower panel enhances comfort while seated. A convenient and secure latching system completes the design.
Functions:
- Supports extension in the thoracolumbar spine.
- Unloads the anterior vertebral bodies, transferring the load to the arches and processes.
- Limits lateral bending and rotation.
- Provides fixation, stabilization, and reduces axial load on the thoracic and lumbar spine.
Indications:
- Stable, uncomplicated compression fractures of the vertebral bodies in the lower thoracic and lumbar spine.
- Immobilization after spinal surgery (intervertebral discs and vertebral bodies).
- Spinal stabilization in osteoporosis.
- Immobilization of the lower thoracic and lumbar spine during the treatment of spinal tumors.
- Dysontogenetic diseases of the spine.
Contraindications:
No absolute contraindications have been identified. However, the following require consultation with a physician:
- Complicated spinal injuries with spinal cord damage.
- The need for individualized spinal orthosis.
- Contact dermatitis, trophic ulcers, or pressure sores in the application area.
- Allergic reactions to the materials used in the product.
Important Note:
This hyperextension brace should only be used as prescribed and under the supervision of a physician.
Instructions for Use:
- Width Adjustment: Loosen the screws on the upper panel, adjust the width to fit snugly against the body (ensuring side panels fit tightly), and tighten the screws.
- Height Adjustment: Loosen the screws on the side panels, adjust the length so the upper panel rests at the upper third of the sternum and the lower panel sits above the pubic symphysis. Tighten the screws.
- Rear Panel: Adjust the Velcro closure for the desired level of back support.
- Fastening: Secure the brace to the torso using the latching system.
- Water Resistance: The brace is waterproof, allowing for showering and bathing while wearing it. The wearing schedule and duration should be determined by your physician.
