Name:
Ruzana
Description:
Clear or slightly opalescent, colorless or yellowish solution. The main active ingredient Oxymetazoline Release form 10 ml in a polyethylene bottle, sealed with a spray nozzle in a cardboard pack with instructions for use. Dosage 0.05% 10 ml Indications for use Acute rhinitis; allergic rhinitis; vasomotor rhinitis; to restore drainage in case of inflammation of the paranasal sinuses of the nasal cavity, eustachitis, otitis media; to eliminate edema before diagnostic manipulations in the nasal passages. Method of administration and doses For adults and children over 6 years old: 1 injection in each nasal passage 2-3 times a day. The drug is used for 5-7 days. Application during pregnancy and lactation Since an overdose of oxymetazoline can affect the blood supply to the fetus and milk secretion, it is not recommended to exceed the dosage of the drug during pregnancy and lactation. The drug should be used only after a careful assessment of the risk-benefit ratio for the mother and fetus. Precautions The drug should be used with caution in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors and other drugs that increase blood pressure for up to 10 days after their use; with increased intraocular pressure, severe atherosclerosis, tachycardia, pheochromocytoma, during pregnancy and lactation, with severe forms of cardiovascular diseases (arterial hypertension, angina pectoris); with thyrotoxicosis and diabetes mellitus; with benign prostatic hyperplasia, porphyria. Prolonged use and overdose of the drug can lead to a weakening of its effect. Abuse of this drug can cause: reactive hyperemia of the nasal mucosa (reverse effect); chronic swelling of the nasal mucosa (drug rhinitis); mucosal atrophy. Caution should be exercised in the presence of hypersensitivity to benzalkonium chloride, which is part of the drug as a preservative – swelling of the nasal mucosa may occur, especially with prolonged use of the drug. If the above symptoms appear, you should stop using the drug or replace it with a drug that does not contain this component. The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms After prolonged use or taking drugs for the common cold containing oxymetazoline in dosages exceeding the recommended ones, a general effect on the cardiovascular system and central nervous system cannot be ruled out. In these cases, the ability to drive a vehicle or equipment may be reduced. Interaction with other drugs With the simultaneous appointment of MAO blockers (monoamine oxidase) and tricyclic antidepressants – an increase in blood pressure. Co-administration of other vasoconstrictor drugs increases the risk of side effects. Contraindications atrophic rhinitis; angle-closure glaucoma; hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; condition after transsphenoidal hypophysiectomy or other surgical procedures that could lead to damage to the dura mater; children’s age up to 6 years. Composition 1 ml of solution contains: active substance: oxymetazoline hydrochloride – 0.50 mg; excipients: glycerin, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, benzalkonium chloride, purified water. Overdose After a significant overdose or accidental ingestion, symptoms associated with both the hyperactive phases and the inhibition phases of the central nervous system (CNS) may occur. CNS stimulation manifests itself in restlessness, agitation, hallucinations, and convulsions. CNS depression is manifested in a decrease in body temperature, lethargy, drowsiness, coma. The following additional symptoms: miosis, mydriasis, nausea, vomiting, cyanosis, fever, sweating, pallor, spasms, palpitations, tachycardia, bradycardia, arrhythmia, cardiovascular failure, cardiac arrest, arterial hypertension, respiratory depression, apnea, pulmonary edema, respiratory disorders, mental disorders. In case of overdose in children, CNS disorders often occur, accompanied by convulsions, bradycardia, apnea, arterial hypertension, hypertension and the possible development of coma. Therapeutic measures for overdose: taking activated charcoal (absorbent), sodium sulfate (laxative), gastric lavage, ventilation of the lungs. You should not take vasopressors. If necessary – lowering the temperature, anticonvulsant therapy. Side effectsThe frequency of adverse reactions is indicated in accordance with the following classification: very frequent (> 1/10), frequent (> 1/100 and <1/10), infrequent (> 1/1000 and <1/100), rare (> 1 /10000 and <1/1000), very rare (<1/10000), including isolated cases. Nervous system: Very rare: anxiety, insomnia, fatigue (drowsiness, sedation), headache, hallucinations (mainly in children). Cardiovascular system: Rare: palpitations, tachycardia, arterial hypertension, very rarely: arrhythmia. Respiratory system disorders: General: burning and dryness of the nasal mucosa, sneezing. Infrequently: increased swelling of the nasal mucosa, epistaxis. Very rare: sleep apnea in young children and newborns. Musculoskeletal system: Very rare: convulsions (especially in children). Immune system: Infrequently: hypersensitivity reactions (angioedema, rash, itching). Storage conditions At a temperature not higher than 25 °C. Keep out of the reach of children!
