What Parlazin® Neo is and what it is used forParlazin® Neo tablets are used to treat allergic disorders. Its active ingredient, levocetirizine, belongs to a class of drugs called antihistamines. The drug blocks the effect of histamine, which is released during allergic reactions. In adults and children over 6 years old, Parlazin® Neo is used to treat the following diseases: – allergic rhinitis (runny nose), hay fever – allergic conjunctivitis – chronic urticaria (often accompanied by itching) For children aged 2-6 years, Parlazin Neo should be prescribed in in the form of drops, since tablets do not provide a safe dosing regimen in this age group. Do not take the drug in the following cases – if you are allergic to the active substance, other substances similar in structure, or any of the excipients of the drug listed in the “Composition” section; – if you have severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 10 ml/min). - Parlazin® Neo tablets contains lactose, so if your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars or a rare disease accompanied by an increased level of galatose in the blood, ask him for advice before using this medicine. Precautions for medical use Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Parlazin® Neo Tablets. Be sure to tell your doctor the following information: - if you have a tendency to urinary retention (inability to completely empty the bladder), for example, due to a spinal cord injury or an enlarged prostate gland; - Parlazin® Neo tablets contain lactose; - if you suffer from other diseases, allergies or use any other medicines (for internal or external use), including those sold without a prescription. Children and adolescents under the age of 18 Parlazin® Neo should not be administered to infants and children under 2 years of age due to insufficient data on its use. For the safe treatment of children aged 2-6 years, it is recommended to use Parlazin® Neo in the form of drops for oral administration, since tablets cannot be used to select the required dose. If you accidentally take Parlazin® Neo tablets during pregnancy, then this drug will not adversely affect the fetus, but the tablets should be stopped. Breastfeeding Parlazin Neo tablets should not be taken during breastfeeding, as it is expected that the active substance may pass into breast milk. Before taking any medicines, consult your doctor. Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms Parlazin® Neo may cause drowsiness in some patients, therefore, persons planning to drive a car, perform potentially hazardous activities or work with mechanisms should take into account their reaction to the drug. The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the doctor and depends on the type, duration and dynamics of the patient's complaints. Dosage regimenAdults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age The recommended daily dose is 1 tablet once a day (1Ă—5 mg). In patients with impaired renal function, reduced doses can be prescribed depending on the severity of kidney damage. The mode of reception should be determined by the doctor. When prescribing the drug to patients with impaired liver function, no dose changes are required. Dosing and Administration Tablets should be swallowed whole, without chewing, and washed down with liquid; they can be taken with or without food. If you have taken too much Parlazin® Neo tablets If you think you have taken an excessive dose of Parlazin® Neo tablets, tell your doctor who will decide on the necessary actions. If you forget to take Parlazin® Neo Tablets Do not double your dose to make up for a missed dose. Just wait until it's time for your next dose and take your regular dose as directed by your doctor. If you stop taking Parlazin® Neo Tablets early Stopping Parlazin® Neo Tablets early should not cause harm in the sense that the symptoms of the disease will only gradually recur without becoming more severe than before taking Parlazin® Neo. Do not change the recommended dose. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you think the effect of the medicine is too weak or too strong. Possible side effects Like all medicines, Parlazin® Neo Tablets can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. Fatigue, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, weakness have been reported. In some cases, allergic reactions (swelling of the lips, tongue, eyelids, itching, inflammatory skin rash), skin photosensitivity, skin cracks, edema, sinus thrombosis, jugular vein thrombosis, paresthesia (changes in skin sensitivity, for example, a sensation of tingling or crawling of ants on skin), hypotrichosis (hair loss), gastrointestinal disturbances, abdominal pain, palpitations, rapid heart rate, angina pectoris, spasms, inflammation of the eyes, visual disturbances, blurred vision, muscle pain, aggression or anxiety, insomnia, thoughts of suicide, hallucinations, depression, increased runny nose, respiratory failure, liver inflammation, abnormal liver function (changes in laboratory tests), increased appetite, vomiting, dizziness, trembling, loss of consciousness, taste disturbance, weight gain, sudden urge to urinate, urinary retention - the impossibility of completely emptying the bladder, the ineffectiveness of drugs vein, dry mucous membranes.
