Description:
Capsule: white body – white cover, without inscription; content is white powder. Release formCapsules Pharmacological actionPharmacodynamicsLactic acid bacteria, which are part of the drug, are an integral part of the normal intestinal microflora, and are already found in large quantities in the digestive tract of a newborn child. These bacteria have a preventive and curative effect through several possible mechanisms: – as a result of lactose fermentation, they reduce the pH of the intestinal contents. An acidic environment prevents the growth of pathogenic and opportunistic bacteria and ensures optimal action of digestive enzymes, -participation in the synthesis of vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12 and vitamin K, -participation in the metabolism of bile acids and bile pigments, -prevention of attachment of harmful microorganisms to the wall intestines, -synthesis of antibiotic substances (bacteriocins), -stimulation of the humoral and intestinal immune systems. An imbalance in the intestinal microflora, potentially caused by numerous factors (viral and bacterial intestinal infections, travel abroad, treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics and chemotherapeutic drugs, radiation therapy of the abdominal cavity and pelvic organs), or untimely formation of normal intestinal microflora in infants age can cause gastrointestinal disturbances such as flatulence, diarrhea and constipation. Therapy with Linex capsules helps to maintain normal and restore disturbed intestinal microflora. Characteristics of Linex: The lactic acid bacteria contained in Linex have been isolated from the contents of the intestines of adults and children. Using special identification methods, their natural resistance to certain antibiotics and chemotherapy drugs has been demonstrated. However, the lactic acid bacteria contained in Linex are not vancomycin resistant and do not contain plasmids. In this regard, the possibility of transferring antibiotic resistance to other bacteria using phage transduction and other resistance transfer mechanisms can be ruled out. Pharmacokinetics Lactic acid bacteria act locally in the gastrointestinal tract. Systemic absorption after oral administration is not observed. In this regard, classical pharmacokinetic studies are lacking. Indications for useLinex capsules contain three different types of live lyophilized lactic acid bacteria, which are a normal component of the natural intestinal microflora, are involved in maintaining and regulating its physiological balance and functioning. Linex is used for the prevention and as an adjunct in the treatment of diarrhea, bloating and other gastrointestinal disorders caused by an imbalance in the intestinal microflora, which is usually the result of: – viral and bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract in newborns, children and adults (for example: rotavirus infection, traveler’s diarrhea); -treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics and chemotherapeutic drugs; – radiation therapy of the abdominal cavity and pelvic organs. Dosage and administration Newborns and children under 2 years: 1 capsule three times a day; Children aged 2 to 12 years: 1-2 capsules three times a day; Adults and children over 12 years: 2 capsules three times a day. In the treatment of diarrhea in children under six years of age, a preliminary consultation with a doctor is necessary. For children and patients who cannot swallow a whole capsule, it must be opened, the contents poured into a spoon and mixed with a small amount of liquid or food. To prevent the harmful effects of acidic gastric juice on lactic acid bacteria, Linex is recommended to be taken between meals with a small amount of liquid. Linex should not be taken with hot drinks or used simultaneously with alcohol. Linex is taken until the symptoms disappear. If diarrhea does not go away after two days of treatment with Linex, patients should consult a doctor. In the self-treatment of diarrhea, the first and main measure is the replacement of lost fluids and electrolytes. Application during pregnancy and lactation Treatment of diarrhea during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be carried out under medical supervision. In the absence of sufficient data on the safety of Linex during pregnancy and breastfeeding, drug therapy during these periods is not recommended. Precautions It is necessary to consult with your doctor before taking Linex if you have: – body temperature above 38 ° C; – traces of blood or mucus in the stool; Diarrhea lasts more than two days and is accompanied by severe abdominal pain, dehydration and weight loss chronic diseases (eg diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease) or conditions characterized by decreased immunity (eg HIV infection). Linex contains lactose. The drug is contraindicated in patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Linex may contain residues of milk proteins that may cause allergic reactions. Interaction with other drugs Using special identification methods, laboratory studies have demonstrated the natural resistance of lactic acid bacteria contained in Linex to certain antibiotics and chemotherapeutic drugs. Linex can be taken simultaneously with antibiotics and chemotherapy drugs, however, to increase efficiency, it is recommended to observe a three-hour time interval. No other interaction studies have been conducted. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to the active substance or components of the drug. One capsule of Linex contains at least 1.2×107 live lyophilized lactic acid bacteria. Active ingredient: lyophilized lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus (sp. L. gasseri), Bifidobacterium infantis and Enterococcus faecium; Excipients: lactose monohydrate, dextrin, potato starch, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide (E171), gelatin.
