It has an effect on various pathogens, especially pyogenic bacteria, including some strains that are insensitive to antibiotics. It also has antifungal activity (against Candida, some epidermophytes and trichophytes). Destroys infectious agents, affecting the formation of proteins, enzymes and damaging their cell membranes. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) strengthens the walls of blood vessels, reduces their permeability, the possibility of bleeding and edema formation. Indications for use Local antiseptic treatment of inflammatory and infectious diseases of the oral cavity and throat caused by pathogens sensitive to the drug. Dosage and Administration Always use Efizol according to the instructions in this leaflet. If you are not sure about anything, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Adults and children over 4 years of age Apply 1 lozenge every 2-3 hours (no more than 8-10 tablets per day). Children aged 4 to 6 years should only take Efizol under adult supervision. Tablets are not chewed. After ingestion, the patient is advised to refrain from eating and drinking for 30 minutes. Treatment is recommended to continue for 1-2 days after the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease. To date, there are no data from relevant epidemiological studies regarding the effects of Efizol on pregnancy, therefore, its use during pregnancy should be approached with caution. Efizol can be taken during breastfeeding at the recommended doses and for the recommended duration of treatment. Precautions When using Efizol, pay special attention to the following: Due to the absence of an analgesic component in the preparation, it should not be used in inflammatory processes accompanied by severe pain. In the presence of clinical symptoms of the spread of infection, it is necessary to prescribe systemic antibacterial treatment. There is a risk of sensitization for patients with a history of allergic contact dermatitis. This medicinal product contains lactose as an excipient, which makes it unsuitable for patients with lactose intolerance. Patients with rare hereditary fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should not take Efizol. If any adverse reactions occur, Efizol should be discontinued and another treatment should be prescribed. Simultaneous reception with other drugs for local use is possible after consultation with your doctor. If there is no improvement or if symptoms worsen, a doctor should be consulted. Interactions with other drugs Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other drugs, including those obtained without a prescription. When used simultaneously with kayexalate (a drug that is used for elevated levels of potassium in the blood), there is a possibility of developing severe necrotic lesions of the skin and mucous membranes, especially the gastrointestinal tract. Ascorbic acid ensures the absorption of iron and aluminum in the gastrointestinal tract. In renal insufficiency, increased absorption of aluminum can cause aluminum intoxication, therefore, in patients with renal insufficiency taking drugs containing ascorbic acid, concomitant use of aluminum-containing antacids should be avoided. The use of Efizol and food and drink intake After taking the patient, it is recommended to refrain from eating and drinking for 30 minutes. ContraindicationsEfizol is not used for allergies (hypersensitivity) to any drug and / or excipient of the drug. The drug is not used in children under 4 years of age due to the risk of inhalation of the tablet. Composition Active ingredients in one tablet: dequalin chloride 0.25 mg and ascorbic acid 30 mg.
