Description of goods A local irritant, which is obtained from the freshwater sponge badyagi, is a colony of intestinal animals – Spongilla lacustris fragilis, Ephydatia fliviatilis. The badyagi’s skeleton consists of a looped network of silica needles interconnected by an organic substance – spongin. It also includes phosphates, carbonates and organic substances. The action of badyagi is based on mechanical irritation of the skin, due to the content of silicon needles. Action The remedy is used for osteochondrosis, radiculitis, “rheumatic pains”, neuralgic pains, as well as for bruises and sprains. One package or one tablespoon of the powder is placed in an enamel or glass dish and mixed 1:10 with boiled water or 3% hydrogen peroxide, or vegetable oil until a mushy mass is obtained and applied to the skin.
